Doubt that about the bosses health. I mean if you have proof I'd like to see it but that sounds like a desperate excuse. One way or another it didn't make the presentation an event, it made it a chore. And okay, so hack and slash fans are pleased I guess, great. Still leaves turn based people out (you know, the fans who originally played Final Fantasy VII) but I guess the Final Fantasy VII reboot just isn't for them. Maybe I just don't see the point in cashing in on nostalgia if you're going to deliver an entirely different experience, but hey the RE2 reboot was popular so what do I know? Gamers like shiny things that move fast these days, I guess turn based just isn't hip enough (But cashing in on 20 year old stories is apparently). The bosses health was obviously beefed up or the players damage was weakened so they could make an event out of it.
And you don’t have to go into the menu as they said, there will be shortcut options.
I guess if you're so excited about it you can enjoy buying 2-3 games worth of Final Fantasy VII in the future. Square Enix is happy to cash in on your nostalgia. Me personally though, as someone who still owns his original copy from when the game came out in 1997... Yeah I'll give the reboot a pass.
