I enjoyed the use of ratings to passively react to posts rather than full on responding to everything I had any feeling whatsoever towards.

Some thrive for the neg ratings but christ did it keep many a fuckwhit at bay and I think this will encourage the smoothest of brains.

Like others have said I liked being able to view the reaction scores at a quick glance to see if I was reading the post of a tard or not, but this is Null’s sandbox and it isn’t changing the site much at all to have them disabled. It is a shrug from me.

Call me a faggot but I’ll echo the sentiment of other users. I think removing the score entirely is somewhat short sighted. As stated previously the notifications help to show if your post is gaining traction. It’s helpful to know if anyone has noticed your thread without having to constantly check your watched threads or posts or whatever. When someone rates one of my posts I’ll often go back to that thread and usually make another post since often some serious discussion has taken place and I can reply.
It’s also really helpful to check profiles and see if it’s a Tommy tooter type situation where a poster is so retarded that they have -100,000 points. You can sniff out the “good” posters who have been around for a while that way.
Also stickers serve as a useful psychological tool to reward good posts and dissuade retards. I’ve noticed that “normal” people who get a bunch of autistic or hat emotes will shape up their posting more.
As for the revenge reactors, spammers, etc, isn’t it easier just to rate limit them? Just like how supporters can use deviant and DRINK!, just limit retards from eating en masse.

But hey whatever. It’s not my site, but I do like the stickers. I don’t think it’s “Reddit” to enjoy giving people stickers.

You can still get and give stickers just like before, and see what stickers you have gotten, only the user score is gone, and you have to click two buttons to see your recent reactions. I have confidence that we can make it through this.

I'm now realising that I ONLY got stickers (mostly positive, at least), but have got zero replies, since Josh turned sticker-notifications off. Before I listened to MATI and found out what was happening, I searched this sub-forum for the phrase "shadow-banned", coz I thought that must be what happened to me.

Actually, I have a buttload of "watched" threads, but haven't got a single notification for activity in THEM, since sticker-alerts are gone, either. That seems weird; I used to get watched-thread alerts constantly.

Are other people getting watched-thread updates? Did the change to sticker-alerts somehow turn off watched-thread alerts, too?

No, I'm already borderline suicidal over the fact I don't see a number on the bell when I refresh, I can't imagine what state of mind I'll be in after a week of this.

Maybe I don't want to find out about the shit days / weeks after the fact? Nobody goes to that page and it's obvious by peoples annoyance about the change.

Like maybe I don't want to have to leave a thread I'm in to go peak at that page every once in a bit? It's just an extraneous extra step for no good reason.

I don't want to get a signed consent form before inviting people to the DM chains but we can adapt. Try to have fun with it.

I affirm what others have said, seeing another poster's score was handy for telling if they were retarded at a glance, especially useful when deciding if it's worth Ignore-ing or ignoring them in a single thread. Which now stating it would be a nice feature split; Site-Ignore and Thread-Ignore.
As for my own score, it was handy to see if a post of mine was well put together or if I'd missed the mark in some way. And also a reminder of threads I've posted in but haven't Watched for whatever reason, usually because they're too busy/popular. And give me the puzzle pieces if you must, but I liked trying to finagle it to end in a 5 or 0.

Yeah, I don't even know what my score is, but I liked to click the bell to see if people reacted one way or another to a post I made.

It would be nice to have the notifications back even if all reaction stickers were point neutral, if that makes sense.

I had a ~28000 score, meaning my ratio was 27 points per post. Lost like tears in the rain.

At least now I have no reason not to be an aggressive a-hole to people (within the limits of the rules of the site), neg ratings no longer have power over me.

If this was the desired outcome of this change, fair enough. But I think there are a lot of people like me that put more effort into being "good" civil posters because of good boy points.
