I think the oldest of them is a professor who originally picked it up as a teaching tool and ended up being really good at reverse engineering and breaking the game, the rest of them aren't "old" they're just not zoomers who run around screaming and fatfishing fans. Redstone-focused ones tend to be more well-adjusted as far as I can see. SethBling branched out into much broader general game design after Minecraft and Mumbo Jumbo went from making fancy redstone machines to having a pretty respectable film-making and cinematography portfolio, while still making fancy redstone machines in his spare time alongside that.

I don't feel much compassion towards schizophrenic offenders. the violent ones are also the ones who decide to not take meds, not seek medical care, and do illegal drugs. if it's domestic violence then it will be the person they have under their thumb that gets their real venom. even if they aren't lucid about everything they'll often still understand the relationship power dynamics at play and how to abuse it. being mentally ill doesn't automatically make someone helpless. in some cases it can make them cruel in inventive ways.

That being said, it's more applicable to ask why so many Minecraft youtubers turn out to be degenerates. I say it's because they get full of themselves with their fame and gives them the false impression that it can overcome any bad decision. When their relevancy eventually runs out, they can't reconcile that they're nobodies again and the good ol' days are long behind them. I don't know I felt horrible when stoneman died granted he wouldn't take his meds, or seek out medical care, but he basically rotted to death while alive because he was convinced the hospital had a huge trebuchet that would launch him into orbit and was too busy lighting terrorist gas tanks on fire with his lighter to shoot them to their fiery deaths in between dispatching lions with a battle axe
