Its actually in the Wikipedia article (or at least the one out there right now). But its carefully written in a way to hide it and obscure it:

"He was previously a credit analyst for ABN-AMRO in San Francisco, and an actor on the San Francisco Public-access television show Chip Weigh Magnet Down, which he also helped to make."

ABN-AMRO is a big European bank. Him getting hired seemingly out of the UCLA English program into a job in a big bank is not something that lines up with the narrative he likes to use.

Sterling and Sessler were buddies back at least to 2013 after G4 got rid of Sessler. They famously appeared together at some event where they proclaimed their "right to dox" those they didn't like. They were both big early supporters of Anita Sarkeesian.
He was also simping for Zoe Quinn very early. He backed up some of her made-up stories and claimed to be an eyewitness to some sort of online attack on her that didn't happen. But he is dumb enough that he probably did it for free.

Never got why G4 was touted as this big amazing comeback thing. It naturally died as youtube gaming channels arose and people got their gaming news and fix online instead of a TV channel. It was never that great to begin with, it was just for a time the only game in town for decent gaming coverage and reviews, until youtube blew up.
