Careercow Adam Sessler - Former G4 Host, Possibly a Coke Addict, Zoe Quinn Orbiter, Increasingly Irrelevant Cuck

Still laughing at how catastrophic G4's revival went. It was a gaming channel by gaming journalists for gaming journalists intended to be consoomed by gamers operated like a 2000s-era cable channel deep in the era of Twitch and Youtube. Some days I feel like we're in the Ancien Régime circa the 1780s and the journos are the lesser aristocracy, blisteringly out of touch with everyone else and proud about it.

I watched G4 growing up as as a teen (fuck you for getting me hooked on blacklight retribution by the way) (give it back, that was ours goddamnit) but I don't remember; was she playing a character meant to be racist, or was the show actually trying to do racism? Because it comes off more as a character doing a bit than it does her actual opinions, but it's been a really, really long time.

I’m betting she was just saying what the writers wrote for her. And no, the show just had somewhat of a hateboner for Japanese games in general. FF16’s developer recently came out and said that a lot of devs in Japan find the term “JRPG” a dismissive term because the first time they’d heard the term, it was through western journalism using it as essentially an insult. This led people to go back and find old stuff to get context, someone pulled up X-Play’s “review” of Baten Kaitos Orgins as a good example.

Which got people going back and digging up other examples of X-Play shitting on or mocking Japan. Turns out there was a lot, and it mostly came off as vindictive rather than playful.

Fucking zoomers, hating on jap shit was all the rage in the early to mid 2000s. Hell, Moot founded 4chan because he was banned from SomethingAwful for posting about anime. The only people who liked jap shit at the time were pedos and/or proto-SJWs.
It wasn't a bi-product of the 80s-90s hatred because the auto industry and Japanese electronics industry booming?
I remember those days of fear that Japan will take over and control everything from bank accounts to big businesses. You know, what China is doing. Only difference is no one except Gen-Xers and right wingers are pushing back like they did with Japan because of the money. Ironic.

All it's going to lead to, if anything, is Morgan apologizing because she wants people to leave her alone. Adam just tells people to fuck off. It's not going to lead to anything worthwhile.
I think Morgan is smart enough to know that the best thing to do is ignore it and not even address it. She is grounded in reality and barely on Twitter. She has nothing to gain or lose by even addressing a clip from a show she did 20 years ago. Why even address it? After all, she has Adam flailing like a retard. I don't think there's anyone going after her. It's just people who want to see Adam act like a spaz who can't comprehend how trolling on the Internet works.

That might have played a part in it but Japan's economy shit the bed in the mid 90s and by the end of the 20th century they weren't seen as a threat anymore. Before the early 2000s the only way to get anime was from ordering VHS tapes from catalogues or getting up at 7am saturday mornings and watching the Sci-Fi channel. The internet and p2p file sharing changed that and allowed a fuck ton of annoying faggot teens to get into anime which soured a lot of us younger Gen-Xers/older millennials on anime for years. It wasn't until a couple of a years ago that I watched Akira and realized anime isn't all faggy catboy shit.

TechTV my beloved....

Then G4 bought it out and made it gamerbro trash. :(
Thought I should add that Playboy tried to make Webb's shoot a nude one but she refused and did clothed. The chick had/has standards.

I first saw Webb when she was part of the call-in desk in the background of The Screensavers while Sessler was doing the first version of Extended Play (before it got shortened and edgier) by himself.
Yeah, I couldn't remember who it was but I do remember she was offered a decent amount of money to do a nude photo shoot more than once and turned it down every time.

It didnt come out of nowhere, it was funded and promoted by western developers. Bioware in particular kept trashing japanese games and claiming to be the only true real RPGs.

The Japan hate thing is still going on. By both political extremes. The progs bitch and complain because their media and culture is full of cute/sexy fun to watch escapism and has fanservice etc. And most egregiously is not filled with SJ talking points. The right hates it because it's not all super realistic edgelord gritty grim-dark shit. Both sides are retarded but only the left and modern elites actually seem to hate japan as a country and culture for it.

I remember in the late 2000s-early 2010s, the cool thing for western journos to do was bitch about games being "too linear" and praise bioshock nonstop. I think that ties into it. Now every game has to be open world and its ughhhh

Speaking of AOTS they had somewhat of a slight interest in Japan. I remember when Kevin Perrera went to do sumo wrestling. I didn't mind him, or Candace (though she was from thr U-Pick Live Nickelodeon days) and then there was a blonde cohost....not the playboy slut Sara Jane, someone else. (I remember SJ dressed up as Lum from Urutsei Yatsura)

Hell i remember the guest cohosts after Munn left like a then unknown Jim Parsons, Doug something from Best Week Ever, etc

I kinda miss Kevin. Where is he now?
