I'm pretty sure Phil is effectively asexual due to his turbo-autism and child mind. All accounts line up in suggesting that he's very uncomfortable about sex, for all his claimed kink. I think trying to identify with the lesbians was just another attempt to find something to be part of.

It would be interesting to see how much effect screaming "transphobia" would actually have. On the one hand, he likes to glom on to bleeding-heart groups that insist on respecting identities. On the other, his retardation makes him more trouble than he's worth. Most adversity he faces is either caused or exacerbated by his special educational needs. The funny thing is that if he wasn't just a fucking asshole at heart and actually tried improving his life within the system, as opposed to constantly trying to bring down the system in an unironic 'bite the hand that feeds' manner, he might have managed a decent life. His extreme autism about maps he showcased some years back would have been a valuable asset for real estate management or even a job in government working for the geological survey. Could have made some decent money despite his obvious disabilities and been well respected within his field.
