Claims he hates white people, wants to visit almost all of Europe but not sub-Saharan Africa, most of the Indian subcontinent or Southeast Asia...

Oddly enough, I have a theory on why he has certain places coloured in. Obviously he has most of Latin America (I can't really tell because it's shit quality, but it looks like he may have missed Suriname and French Guiana). He also has most of Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East (including Pakistan, though excluding Yemen, Oman and most of the North African Arab states; would really be interested to know if he included Israel).

My suspicion is that Phil named the countries he's memorized because he's a map sorry, and he's obsessed about Latin America for a very long time, but also Communism (which would probably give him most of the countries of the former Soviet Union, Warsaw Pact states and Yugoslavia) and more recently the Middle East as well. I'll bet you his map cuts out southern Arabia, which is why he wouldn't know Yemen (ironically the poorest of the Arab states) and Oman. I'm betting it also doesn't go any further West than Egypt, so he missed out on the Arab states of Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria, though somehow knew Morocco was Arab and remembered to include it.

You'll notice he did include Portuguese speaking Angola and Mozambique, presumably under the impression that they are somehow 'Latino.' No idea if he also got São Tomé et Príncipe and Cape Verde too (let alone Timor l'Este, which might not even be on his maps, or enclaves like Goa, Daman and Diu, and of course Macau) but he doesn't look to have gotten Guinea-Bissau or Equatorial Guinea either! That last one is also a former Spanish colony and a Spanish speaking country, along with Western Sahara (which is, incidentally, also an Arab Muslim state and currently occupied by Morocco; it's a point of contention for the Sahrauis and in fact the reason why Morocco isn't part of the African Union despite much worse states like say Zimbabwe being in good standing).

Latin America aside, Phil seems to have gone with popular or stereotypically 'tourist safe' countries, like much of Europe, China, Japan and South Africa. Ironically, I'm sure he picked the Middle East because of his pseudo-Arab or pseudo-Muslim imagery he's lately flirted with, but he ignores much of Africa, including the aforementioned Arab countries like Sudan, Libya (which is doubly ironic considering the late Qaddafi positioned himself as a revolutionary leader), Tunisia, Algeria, etc, but he also ignores the very strong and rich Muslim cultures in black Africa like Somalia, Mali, Senegal, Niger, Burkina Faso, etc (and of course Muslim minorities in places like Nigeria, Eritrea, Cameroon, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, etc). He also managed to include Pakistan while ignoring Muslim majority Bangladesh (formerly part of Pakistan, ironically), Indonesia (the world's largest Muslim population), and India (where Muslims are a minority, but still constitutes one of the world's largest Muslim populations just because of the sheer size). He also missed Vietnam which is a Communist state! And Nepal (who have long had problems with Communist militants).

My guess is that Phil is ignorant of things outside of his sphere of interest, which isn't uncommon with autism. Hell, most Americans are unfortunately ignorant of the rest of the world, especially Africa and Asia. Of course, Phil is also kind of racist, and Desis didn't capture his imagination like Latinas did, so he writes off all of South and Southeast Asia, as well as most of Africa, because he just doesn't care about us darkies. I should probably be offended that he includes the country of my birth (though I have ancestors on both sides of the border, and in the diaspora, so I guess I win there). On the other hand, I'd love to see him go to Peshawar, Karachi, Herat, Quetta or Kerman. I really would. Does that make me a horrible person?

I realize I'm overanalyzing the rantings of an idiot here, but I find it fascinating how much of himself Phil reveals with these sorts of posts.

collapsible batons are illegal in Oregon and in law enforcement circles finding handcuffs/zip ties and pepper spray on a suspect is code for "rape kit." If Phil gets searched for any reason and they find this crap Phil is fucked.
