Seriously, what's your excuse? You seem to be full of a lot of shit yet have no substance to back it up.
You've arrived into this thread and all we know about you is that you are European, came from 4chan, and your only identity on the website is a helldiver PFP. I don't think you are in a position of authority either.

Context: Donryu is a popular and prolific furry artist. You can frequently see his 'To The Nines' commission series where he has a character in a formal portrait.

That last one has me 🎩Mad on the Internet. I do not even kno whether he is ignoring or conflating using your own, hand-programmed algorithm vs training your art off a publicly-available algorithm. Even then, he may just refuse to hear the difference.

On what basis do you think ending IP law won't just benefit the corponiggers?
The fact that it's those same corponiggers lobbying and shilling in favor of those same IP laws, either maintaining or expanding them. Elite groups always pursue their own interests, never the interests of anyone else.

I need you to understand that no one in their right mind would EVER put out their work if it can be stolen and used by others with no recourse.
Prior to AI, someone "using" your work had one definition: literally taking it and putting it in something you made. It meant tracing over it, or copy/pasting. You go to court, you say "look at this, judge, this looks just like my thing," the judge says "yes I agree," and you're done.

Now for some reason content that includes exactly 0% of pixels or poses or layouts of anyone else's art is being claimed to be "using" those works. Can't even point specifically to which works are supposedly being used, which is pretty important when deciding who gets money for damages.

Can't even prove that Ghiblification is based on training from Ghibli movies, and not countless lookalike unauthorized fan works, for all anybody knows.

Once again people conflate ideas with physical property and call both theft. If someone managed to make creation of real estate as easy as duplicating an idea, they would be hailed as a hero for ending homelessness all over the world.
Theft by definition requires deprivation. If someone didn't lose anything then it literally cannot be called theft. From copyright infringement to AI to tracing all of that shit is very literally not theft. The anti AI retards calling it theft are effectively saying that someone taking a photo of the mona lisa has just cracked open the glass and ran off with it.

I just want to know if this is even meant to be a flex.

The guy did say that it was just a friendly competition and when he said it was not AI and shared the prize around the office. I mean for one personally doesn't look like AI to me. But is 'my art looks like something people (wrongfully) consider to produce shit images' really a flex? It's a kinda funny story though and the guy seems pretty cool at least. The guy seems to be somewhat technologically literate and not terminally online is probably why. The comments however.
I'll leave out the retarded number of people saying 'did you win' or 'no actually this is ai', they're retarded but I'm running too low on harddrive space for the gigabytes of storage the screenshots would take up.

I'm sure I don't need to tell people here but yes, there is actually skill in prompting properly as well as actually having an idea in the first place. Even on civitai I see people using the same loras as I do and getting shit results because they typed the prompt like writing a novel or how an Indian does in the dms of the average white woman. Which would probably still be more coherent than this guy. Believe it or not but yes the common person is aware of the fact that computers use electricity. But hey consooooomerisms got us throwing away kilos of plastic, my balls have more microplastic in them than sperm and basically all recycling is a scam. The entirety of society is wasteful. Why aren't people campaigning for the revival of glass milk bottles that are actually recycled and delivered every day instead of one use plastics? Other than most 'societal' issues that twitter users see are just a result of autistic conditioning instead of genuinely interacting with the world at large.

As much as I said this guy seems cool, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and just say he said the first thing that came to his head. Because there is no way that the average office worker is going out painting or taking photos at any level beyond pointing their iphone at the landscape. An AI contest is by it's nature incredibly accessible and could be something to get people to talk and all that sort of office community building type shit while there's some downtime.

The replies beyond that comment were just two people repeating themselves going back and forth without listening to each other, just like the average internet argument.

I looked at the first guys account, I thought that last part sounded a bit aspergic, once again I have a higher diagnosis success rate than most psychologists. The guy's account is genuinely 9/10 posts being bitching about AI. It's just dumb, you know people that like AI art also enjoy normal art right? No one exclusively likes AI art because it fills the same niche as normal art does. Also more people who have just never actually interacted with AI, yea used to be shit at details, now with some manual editing and i2i denoising it's very good at them.

I tried to archive it, nitter and ghost archive didnt grab long enough and every other site was even shorter. Tried to f12 out the worthless images but twitter don't like me doing it. Forgive any formatting shit I use tor non fullscreen so it might look fucky.

Here's an amazing post that I zoomed in on so it's a bit clearer. Just purely hypothetically of course, does that mean business meetings and such where someone asks for sparknotes or whatever everyone in that room is illiterate? I just find it beautiful that this is coming from twitter; that site well known for how literate it's userbase is. I'd argue that half the time chatgpt is harder to read than normal human shit anyway, half the time it throws in random extra words that no one's used in a century. It's also fucking wild to go off on someone essentially saying 'chatgpt likes to use dashes', typical twitter user. 'Fuck you, you're retarded for not learning what different types of written communication looks like(???????????????????????)'; what a nice person, you must have many friends. What about all those deprived people that twitter loves, is this post not highly anti black, anti autistic, anti immigration? Honestly having an AI that can rewrite complicated things to help you understand it is actually a good thing for retarded people? I have a friend who basically reads anything, give him any type of book and he'll read it, went to uni too for a proper degree. He still uses AI to summarise things because believe it or not not everyone has an endless amount of time to read through 10 different websites looking for one answer. Idk there's just something telling me that this person has never interacted with anyone who uses AI and is just arguing against a strawman in his head.
ebrfbefrrwevgddervw - Copy.webp

I'll summarise just in case. There are 31 twitter posts in those screenshots. 15 of those are bitching about AI. Literally half of his posts are complaining about AI. You'd think maybe he'd have a better understanding of it by now. I miss when autists where the people who would all know about computers, back a decade or so ago when 99% of tech support was done by autistic people for free. Now I'd trust a boomer to give me tech support over them.
'Nightmare work scenario' is a friendly and harmless competition between coworkers. If you quit over something like that I hope you get stuck working as some nurse in a retirement home who's job is to wipe shit off of old people's asses or a trucker driving for hours on end far away from your family, or like a prison guard or something. Also unfathomably retarded reply afterwards.
erbefr - Copy.webp

Yea I agree with this person actually I think that what would effectively be terrorism is pretty cool, we should indeed go burn down offices just because you disagree with a harmless contest. Also AI doesn't affect forest cover at all. Yea it uses electricity which is bad for the environment but it doesn't cause deforestation. The main causes of deforestation are housing and agriculture but hey why would you know about the problems you claim something is causing before claiming they cause said problems. I would be willing to bet that the total power usage of the competition is less than what the office would waste in the same time period anyway. The last guy said that this constitutes a nightmare work environment, I think I've found the actual nightmare, working with someone who thinks that what you could argue is terroristic arson is a good response to what amounts to nothing more than a notice on a noticeboard. If you really cared about the environment you would be campaigning for the government to glass the whole of India and China and then kill yourself.
bfefrtbefefrt - Copy.webp

Art competitions won by AI, AI competitions won by normal art...none of it's a flex because both can achieve the same end result. But if you're not following the rules of whatever contest you're entering you don't deserve the prize, same as if you submit a hyper realistic drawing to a photography competition.

In the real world there are no rules so anything is valid to achieve what you want.

Having no IP laws/copyright isn't without its problems, but it sure as shit would beat the draconian laws we're currently under.
This isn't the 1900s anymore, anyone can connect and get big over the Internet, it's too bad most of it is getting hampered and limited by current IP laws.

yes, there is actually skill in prompting properly as well as actually having an idea in the first place
tell me you're an uncreative poltron without telling me you are.
"no you don't understand it's so hard to delegate the work to something else!" "i'm just like you because i'm an autist who thinks communication is hard!"
come on, no comment.

I like how obviously fat his hand is.

Wouldn't this indicate that you're the uncreative person, for being completely incapable of imagining a situation or setup or workflow where interacting with AI might take skill?
"workflow"
what skill? the power of describing something?
the skill to type out two paragraphs?
you're just embarassing yourself at this point man.
Say you comission someone to draw something. Was it you who made the thing?
why do you treat AI doing it for you differently?
you're a hack and you know it.

Say you comission someone to draw something. Was it you who made the thing?
Say you're a film director or an architect. Would it be incorrect to say you had a pretty central role in the thing getting made? Isn't it all linguistic bullshit? Getting mad at an architect for saying "I made that building" rather than "I designed that building and technically other people placed the bricks."

You even ignore the fact that some people are bad at commissioning and can't articulate what they want very well, which is something you can get better at through practice, i.e. a skill.

But I wasn't even talking about raw typing. I said setups and workflows. Is this person also just "commissioning?"

This is what I mean by saying you're uncreative. Can't even imagine the possibility of other ways to work with AI.

Are you using AI as a tool or as a crutch?

What is this, the thought terminating buzzphrase hour?

Literally not reading anything anyone is saying or engaging with examples being brought up to just trot out the next thing on the list. Maybe next you can grace us with "AI is so bad for the environment."

tell me you're an uncreative poltron without telling me you are.
Typical 4chan retard, crazy how in literally every situation refugees come and shit in your streets huh? Why are you even in the thread dedicated to seething over AI if you're one of those people, other than just you know lurk more newfag? You come on here and almost exclusively seethe in AI threads, have you tried going outside instead of being pissed off at random people on the tranny death count website? If you're unable to understand the nuance of 'thinking of an idea and typing a prompt in a way AI will understand takes knowledge' meaning more skill than none but less than being a fucking painter, then maybe reddit would be a better refugee site for you?

I shall move this thread back to normality, starting with Keke' stance on AI-generated pictures.

I love art and creativity.

If you are an artist, remember that you have full control over your ideas, take the time to illustrate them and inspire others.

This is dedication and hard work.

Never forget this and in this bad period, remember we are all together and in solidarity. KEEP GOING!

Today I met a young artist telling me they wanted to give up because people can use AI to make things better than them.

I told them that we create, we evolve and we are original. That when we draw, it's our own and original result nobody can copy, our expression.

They felt better

Much later, he started a saga:

I been invited to a friend's place and one kid was doing AI on their tablet. Told them that it's bad and the father asked me why. Explained and also said real art have more soul.

He wanted to make a dinosaur playing basket-ball, I drew this for him. They loved it so much, the dad paid me in the end

A traditional illustration of an anthropomorphic dinosaur playing basket-ball. He looks at the viewer while playing.
The result of an illustration I did for a kid while explaining why this is better than the AI art they tried to do on their tablet.

I drew this pretty fast but loved to explain to them how to do a pose and make a character expressive.

I don't blame people who don't really know what happens with AI but at least warning them about it and them understanding feels good.

Also I should do more traditional :')

Small update:

Met the kid again and he was happy to tell me he draws from time to time and wanted to draw with me another dinosaur playing basket-ball, so I told him to do a collaboration with me!

This is the result! Had to draw fast before going but so happy to see he loves art more than AI now!

These pictures are just part of a pattern: a lot of times, I find myself being impressed by anti-AI art, even though they come from an exceptional worldview.
