AI Art Seething General

Someone made an AI model that can create a timelapse video for any image:
https://lllyasviel.github.io/pages/paints_undo/ (warning! shitton of automatically loading videos! will lag your browser if you're on mobile and load forever if your internet is slow!)

It doesn't have to be anime, although the results aren't that good then:
Of course, antis are already seething:

The practical utility is that it makes retards seethe just by the mere exist existence of it. And that alone is worth a million bucks.

Unironically, this might be an amazing tool to help artists get a rough understanding of how the process of certain artstyles would be drawn if no styleguides for it exist.

Somehow, I feel tha those who whine about how these fake timelapses make AI preps pretend tha their work is real also support anything that makes trannies pretend tha their 'chosen' gender is real, including fake periods and surrogacy.

This video's title is phrased... poorly.
Later in the video, he claims to not care, if games are programmed by AI - as it's only the artist part of the team, that matters to the art of the final product.

This is a perfect contrast to the backend developer I met at a bar a month ago, who claimed that it doesn't matter if the textures and sprites were drawn by an artist or AI, as long as there's a human, overseeing the code, so it doesn't run like shit.

Everyone always just assumes their part is the irreplaceable one and the other teams are just there doing stuff a computer could easily do as well, or better

What does this mean bros.

Software copyrights in general have always been imo bordering on bogus, because copyright is not supposed to protect ideas, but a specific expression of those ideas. In software (like Rust for instance) there is very often only one way to do something correctly. So there's no creativity in it, it's at best a discovery of the one way to do something.

If a deterministic process can generate the right way to do something, then how is it creative? Any other similar process will generate something substantially identical. In a more typically legal context, while theoretically a legal filing is copyrightable, in reality, anyone else trying to do the same thing will use the same rote language, or language that is substantially identical. You can't just prohibit other people from making the same legal argument you did, if it's the one that is correct.

I don't see how you can prohibit someone from creating the same software. Where's the creativity? What's identical and has market impact? The font? The names of variables?

I've always had a beef with software copyrights and, for that matter, even patents.
