Re Noah: @Stroppy Trollop referenced the claim of him being sober for 3 years. When he says that, he's generally referring to Adderall specifically. I'm not sure that being sober from Adderall while going on to pop positive for fent is really something to brag about, but he does it. He's in a PHP (partial hospitalization program) out west now, and I'll have more to come about him and what he's been up to.

I know she don't have Ari alone but what a nightmare as a parent not being able to help your kid if something happens.
Seeing your kid choke, realizing they wont be able to chough this one out, is one of the scariest thing ever.
you gotta act fast af and hopefully you're not the type of parent who freeze up.

Ari seem like a kid that's maybe ahead of her curve a bit, or at least not behind by any means, and I think Alex sometimes think of ari being a bit more "grown up" that she actually is. Ari choked at her first birthday party. Alex blamed her own caretaker for not watching Ari closely enough and was critical of her (the caretaker, Hannah) for not distracting Ari so that the adults could have "adult time."

This is one of the first times I have seen my daughter in four months.

And that is not by choice, it is not without heartache, it is not without many other options.

Being a disabled mother comes with a lot of hard choices and a lot of sacrifices I was not prepared to have to be able to make.

The bond I have with her is something that I have never experienced ever in my life, and even after all these months, she knows who I am, and she will run up to me and embrace me as her mother.

The only reason I have not been around her as much as a mother should is because of very difficult circumstances, and I want her happiness to be at the forefront of whatever living situation is best for her, regardless of my own personal feelings.

Every day, I am not with her, I am hurting. Being a mom is the best thing that I have ever done in my life, and she is the most important thing in my life.

I am incredibly thankful & blessed to have amazing family members to help me facilitate her care in this stage where I can’t be as hands-on with her because of my disability.

I am incredibly elated to be reunited with my daughter and be able to spend Easter with her

Either she's a shitty pilot who couldn't hack it through a system that gives literally everyone who can so much as breathe, a license, or she dropped out pretty early on. Updates from Alex. She's moving and has hired two new caregivers. It sounds like Ari is back with her. She complains about lack of professionalism with the Florida caregivers she's interviewed-- yes. the woman who hires random untrained caregivers from Craigslist and gets them to take her OF photos is complaing about lack of professionalism. The mind boggles. She says she spent one night in her wheelchair because of a "caregiver mishap." She refers to her two new hires as "girls." I checked, and she's still following Salina, so she's apparently still in the picture.

Is she going out of her way to source people like this on purpose, and not use whatever government services would normally be available?

It just seems like if she just linked in with a company that organises carers, they would all be vetted and she could find an experienced middle aged carer who has seen and done it all before.

Like most things in American healthcare, home care agencies are a bit of a patchwork mess. That said, yes, she absolutely could and should be picking from agencies instead of craigslist. I'm guessing she's pocketing a decent chunk of money by underpaying her untrained "carers". Since there's no centralized agency the government* just calculates how many hours of what care you need and the cost, and either pays the agency directly via insurance or cuts your carer a check. Government* here being state level, and thus varied, our default "congrats, you're old" social security doesn't cover long term care, and that's fucking stupid.

Also the power dynamic would likely be different with licensed care providers who have a vested interest in remaining employable. Anyone employable with actual care providers would likely not hold the camera while Alex makes OnlyFans content with low level bottom feeder men she’s never met before. They would likely not set up a series of alcoholic sippy cups for Alex to suck down all day. They wouldn’t pretend that they were just baddie besties with Alex.

If Alex went through an agency, she would get professional reliable care and they would have to report if they felt like she (or Ari) was being abused/neglected. As mentioned, they would not offer her sippy cups of alcohol. They would most likely require that she have adaptive equipment for showering, toileting, and AFOs (braces) for her foot drop. They would not let her sit on a tuna towel in place of underwear/depends. Most importantly, they would not help her pack her apartment or care for Ari. Alex wants all of these things and a "bestie" that drinks with her and films her Only Fans footage. Yet, she wants to pay the least amount possible.
