Trainwreck Alex Dacy / Alex Dzimtowicz / Wheelchair Rapunzel - 50% wholesome disability influencer, 50% that cash me outside girl

This woman repulses me in a primal way. Like, if this were hunter gatherer times I would absolutely leave her to the wolves and get on with things.
Here she is bragging about her shitty life choices while wearing no pants I think.

This might be what annoys me about her the most. Like, this isn't a flex for anyone. Especially not a 28 year old woman. And especially for someone so disabled being pregnant could kill her or her child.

Having a child against medical advice like she is is borderline childhood abuse.

I cannot think of a future for that child where it grows up happy and healty. Either she'll miscarry, which is probably the best scenario, or she'll carry the baby to term and it'll be either fucked up like she is (physically that is) or "healthy".

But considering how both its parents seem to completely lack any intelligence or common sense, I don't think baby will grow up to be any better.

She's really speedrunning child abuse.

I'm not even bothered that she's disabled (now that we know the probability of her passing the disease on is minimal) it's how immature she is.
I can't think of a greater tragedy than to never be able to physically hold your own child but she is just waiving those moments away to caretakers. She hasn't actually thought about what being a mother is past giving birth.

Delivery updates. Adding them in the spoiler because there are several videos.

In the first video Alex talks about how the best case scenario is for her to carry the baby until week 36 but it all depends on her respiratory condition and for now that's good. But the doctors assume this will get worse by week 30-34 so that is the time period they are preparing for the delivery.

She's giving birth at a certain hospital (sorry couldn't catch the name) and right after the C-section she's going to be taken to the ICU where she's probably going to be for a few days depending on when they can extubate her and her pain management. Pain management is going to be more tricky as she can't be on any pain medication that affects the respiratory system due to her having diminished respiratory function.

Alex is getting emotional as the delivery date is getting closer because she's a) going to be asleep during the birth b) Noah is not allowed in the operating room while she's sedated and c) she doesn't know how long it's going to take until she can hold, touch or see her daughter. Then she goes on to explain that depending on how premature the daughter is she might end up in the NICU all the while Alex herself will be in the ICU which is in another building.

She's very stressed about these things and then we have a jump cut to Alex celebrating her disabled body doing all these amazing things and she wants to see the magic.

But they will let Noah into the operating room before she gets sedated so he can help out with positioning her. Her hips are suck in a seated position so that will make the C-section trickier.

She won't be able to get the good shit pain meds (opiates) so that kind of sucks. It sounds like the doctors might have to do a lateral incision (up and down) for the C-section because the regular one is more risky due to her hips being so bent. The lateral incision is more painful for recovery but fuck Alex is in for it! She's ready to meet her daughter.

Lastly clap back at a hater.

TL;DR - Alex is probably going to deliver around week 30-34. She's going to be sedated during the C-section and taken afterwards to the ICU for recovery. Her daughter might end up in the NICU depending on how premature she is. Alex can't have any pain medication that affects the respiratory system so the pain will suck, but she's ready to meet her daughter.

As a veteran of 3 c sections I can't imagine how unpleasant it's going to be for her having to recover from a lateral incision without strong meds.
Jesus girl I really hope motherhood is worth it for you and you aren't doing this to your body just for a few months of cute instagram baby photos and then it all falls apart and your mother ends up raising the kid. She doenst seem mentally prepared for the reality of this delivery at all.

What they don't like to tell you about c sections because they just want a live baby and mother is the years of complications you can be left with after. Women often end up bouncing in and out of gynae services for decades afterwards dealing with the after effects from adhesions and so forth. It's MAJOR surgery and not always a nice calm "nurse hand me the forceps ok let's close her up" kind of surgery.
C sections can be absolutely Brutal and fuck you up for years. Sorry PL but I'm sat in bed right now recovering from the second laparoscopic procedure in 2 years dealing with the after effects of getting those babies out when things weren't straightforward.

I'm looking forward to the case report, this is even more of a nightmare than I expected. I would love to be able to sit in on the MDT meetings discussing the planning for her case.

I first thought they would do an awake intubation + a spinal anaesthetic so she could be awake but have an airway ready to do just in case, but because of her anatomy it must be impossible to position her to do the spinal so they just have to use sedation. Getting her extubated will be a fun challenge then!
She has the benefit of being young and otherwise probably fairly well (eg. no background heart or kidney issues, her lungs aren't likely to be full of emphysema etc.), but yeah getting her awake enough to be able to breathe without support but still be comfortable will be a challenge.

Also I don't know if she plans to breastfeed or express, but I hope someone from Maternity comes over to the ICU to help her express (and bring baby, if possible). Unfortunately this easily can get missed.

God I hope she doesn't straight up go into shock and die. She's too good of a cow.Screenshot_20230113_092400_Instagram.jpg

>planned c-section
>intubation
>NO STRONG MEDS!

They're going to put her on what for sedation? Precedex? I'm not sure if Alex is the liar or the doc just is one of those jerks who lies just to tell the patient what they want to hear.
Ketamine keeps you breathing just have to avoid ending up in a K hole. I assume they will just give her whatever for a couple of days and keep her tubed and lightly sedated with something fairly short acting like fentanyl or propofol, so they don't need to wean her off sedation.

Ketamine is a great analgesic and sedative for procedures and for post op pain, but it is a strong drug. You can get respiratory depression from ketamin, which as you pointed out, has a much longer half life than fentanyl or prop. And fentanyl is a "strong drug," for sure. Fentanyl is probably the safest. I'd be scared prop would tank her pressure.

There's no "might" in this situation, the baby will definitely be in NICU at 30-34 weeks, usually until the baby reaches her due date. If she thinks otherwise she's not listening to her medical team.

I hope the poor kid manages to dodge all of the worst effects of prematurity.

I don’t know if anybody truly understands motherhood until they’ve had a child, but she seems particularly…detached? Unaware?

She wants to see a cute baby that looks like her, only healthy.

Then what? The 40 minute feedings every hour all day, the crying all night, diaper changes, rocking, soothing, bouncing to sleep? How is she going to handle that? Her boyfriend is going to do it? Her parents? Her $15.00 hour paid caregiver? Then the crawling walking stage where they need to be protected 100% of the time, the two year stage where everything is no...on and on. It’s more work than she imagines and is capable of, and add in any problems a preemie might have. We ought to take a poll to vote on how many days it takes her to cry and say she can’t do it.

I don’t know how much is ignorance and how much is selfishness but I’d say a good dose of both.

Being disabled shouldn’t mean wanting to do everything that an able-bodied woman does. It means living a good life within limitations, without hurting others, and every one of us has to do that. She’s so immature, she’s let the idea that disability is not really disability and she can do everything take over.

I’d love to see her parents reaction and hear what they said when she told them she was pregnant. Unless this family is super wealthy and can afford a full time nanny, they are going to have to take over.
