Has Alex ever even been alone before? Not alone in her room, but alone in her house/unit, at least for a couple hours. Because at some point, the bubbie is going to get sick and need an emergency rush to medical care. Even bubs who are born normally to normal mums are vulnerable to all sorts of dire health problems, human offspring are are born incredibly undeveloped compared to other mammals. If Alex insists on having just the one carer for both her and the child, she's going to spend a lot of time dirty, hungry and alone in a trashed unit.

Anyone who has ever even seen a harried parent wrestle with an unruly stroller (that's loaded down with the weight of a baby) knows that an iffy, weak one-handed grip won't cut it. Pushing an empty stroller around inside on newish LVP flooring has nothing in common with a bumpy, crowded, unpredictable sidewalk.

She should spend less time trying to convince her audience (and herself) that she's going to be taking Saturday strolls and more time figuring out how things-- childcare and her own personal care-- are going to get done. She won't know what unforeseen challenges she and the newborn will have post-birth, but the baby will obviously have to be fed, bathed, clothed, diapered, and so on-- and she needs to figure out how all all of that's going to happen. If she insisted in making that into content, people might even be interested, but I guess logistics and nitty-gritty details aren't worthy of the 'gram.

In the UK, Alex would be on the radar of Social Services as a vulnerable adult anyway, but especially so with a baby imminent. Social Services would be responsible for overseeing Alex’s carer arrangements and living situation to make sure it’s safe for a baby and no one is at risk of harm.

That stroller video is the funniest shit I have ever seen. She’s pushing an empty stroller on the smoothest flooring imaginable. Now do it loaded down with a helpless, screaming infant (that she can’t remove from the stroller unassisted to soothe) and a heavy diaper bag crammed with all the contingency gear a baby requires for any outing. Now do that again, except on a busy, uneven sidewalk while recovering from childbirth. Remembering of course that once she isn’t pregnant, nobody will give a single solitary fuck about getting out of her way or giving her a better seat on the bus. Not that anyone can tell she’s pregnant anyway what with her nightmare body.

I would give her $100 if she could lift her baby from its bassinet unassisted, carry it to the changing table, change the diaper, and get the baby back in bed. THAT would be vastly more impressive than this stroller shit.

I fucking agree. Even a jogger style with 3 wheels with one hand is difficult. I have def spilled some beverages trying to do both a few times. There is no way she can do it.

Also the make adaptive strollers for wheelchairs and such.

The whole concept that a bub is growing, miniature human being slowly becoming its own person is something that narcs are incapable of grasping. They genuinely expect a perfect Mini-Me to pop out of their body and immediately declare its eternal love, devotion and service to them with its first breath. They will never forgive it when it doesn't.

Alex posted a video on both IG and Tiktok showing that she can push the baby's stroller and how happy she is that she's able to do so. Commenters on Tiktok pointed out that it's so much easier to push a stroller inside than outside. Adding also how much the stroller costs on Amazon.

Alex is gonna get a hard dose of reality when she finds out her caregiver will also not be her nanny, and that her nanny will not be her caregiver. Unless her plan is to hire some person desperate for any job at all off Craigslist. But if that happens, they won’t stick around long.

No, social services is abysmal here in the US. On top of her regular disability check, she probably also gets Medicaid (health insurance, which should also pay for some or perhaps all of her home health aid), SNAP (food stamps), and WIC (essentially extra food, formula, and diapers for pregnant women and mothers of infants). She MIGHT get a childcare voucher, depending on her state and availability of funds (do we know where she actually lives? Fl, Illinois, Michigan?) But social services in most places would likely not proactively check in on her unless she later proves herself to be negligent, or for some reason had a social worker already. Although someone please correct me if they have better info on where she lives and what services she could get there.
