Alpha and Omega Fandom - Wolfaboos with a love for shitty direct-to-video sequels.

How did this happen? Why this shitty CGI movie?
Why are we still here? Just to suffer?

I just don't fucking get it guys. I can't comprehend it. Even on some level, I have like, some understanding why sonic and MLP attracted their autistic fandoms, because they seem purpose built to do so but this? This? Its basically a shitty CGI balto rip off. Its just beyond my comprehension. Whats attractive about it? Whats the hook!?

BECAUSE THEY'RE FURRIES.

Really, that should be the go-to answer for any of this shit.

I'm shock there isn't a Bands on the Run: The Rubber Band Movie fandom yet. Just as great of quality as that wolf movie.
I forgot that existed and when I heard "Rubber Band" I thought of the one group Bootsy Collins was in. Then I remembered after looking it up that it was nowhere near what I was thinking of. :(

I think this thread demonstrates that even be most B-class, sub-par, forgettable rip-off of a Movie always has a fandom as autistic and cringey as the big franchises.
I'd be not surprised in finding out that the someone on Deviantart is making shitty recolor OCs of the Dingo Pictures movies or the other Brazilian rip-offs.

Their covers are even more lazy.
I remember /co/ periodically trotting out some of the worst CGI and these spin-offs/overseas releases were the worst.

Anything can have an overly-autistic fandom if it focuses on humanizing an animal. Free Willy? It exists. Hoodwinked or Madagascar? More likely than you'd think. Kung Fu Dino Posse? You're not even trying.

What I'm surprised about is the fact that this community is still so active and engaged, nearly 8 years after the first film came out. I'd even go to say that it's been much more stable than "bronies" in that same time, and their show still has new content being put out constantly.

Or the Talking Tom/Ginger furry apps.

Probably because the Bronies seem to focus on starting drama and squabbles within their own fandom as opposed to simply attacking anyone who dislikes the thing they sperg over.

Same, the "straight to home" release scene is pretty low-key, even quieter than Netflix/Hulu Originals. I'm not surprised that they can easily re-use CGI assets to make lots of low-cost sequels, but they they've found a steady, stable market for them & still kept it on the down-low for the most part.

There was one Alpha and Omega movie where the sky glitches out for a split second.

The movies look so subpar and lazy. More lazy than the Land Before Time direct to video releases that were churned out.

What bugs me more that the "wolves" look more like long legged rodents than wolves IMO.

If you get a higher quality audio, you can hear that the one wolf with the low voice sounds like it might be pitch-shifted a bit.

So same voice actors?

Is it me or do the models look off? From the thumb nail, they look like they are pasted on the ground. They don't mesh well. The mouth flaps look more like muppet mouths.

Models are definitively off, if not disjointed.

Debi Derryberry went from playing the most intelligent child in the universe to a disfigured wolf cub that looks drunk half the time. Always odd to hear familiar voices steep to such low levels just to keep a steady paycheck.

I remember a friend telling me Rob Paulson has gone on record saying “Remember that I’ve gotta eat!” Think of it as the actor’s equivalent to having to do the most mundane task at whatever job you have.
