If you have read the comics, you know that most characters that die stay dead.
Fine, faggot, let's play and go over the ones not fully gone over in the show yet.
Angstrom Levy: clearly dead, survives, comes back, dies again
Conquest: Mark kills him and confirms the cadaver, actually sike, it wasn't his real corpse.
Angstrom Levy (again): his son literally inherits his power and has agridge against invincible in the closing pages, by any measure the same guy.
Battle Beast: Dies, curse goes to daughter, fundamentally same character.
Mark: fuck tons of au versions but this doesn't count.
Actually Mark: bait and switch fake death
The Maulers: secret third clone
Literally every single character that died for a bit: Reboot Arc

Like, I'm sure there's more, but it's an extremely fucking egregious story when it comes to "did they actually die though?".
When characters do die. You can't even take it seriously. We see people grt shot in the head and live.
I don't give a fuck if it's meant to be lampshading how often it happens in comics, it happens in Comics due to Editorial demand and different people taking the writer's seat.
Kirkman doesn't have that excuse, Invincible is pretty much meant to be his baby yet it has all the same problems mainline comics have.
Also he's clearly got a cuck fetish.

You forgot Dinosaurus.

This series has "millennial writing" all over it, specially Allen and his stupid commentary.

On the other hand the viltrumites make no fucking sense, they say they want to bring all this awesome stuff to other planets and instead of just showing up with it so the people there wants to join they go and genocide half the population.

As much as I agree that guys who do nothing but spoil the comic and say "Oh man, just wait until this happens" are annoying, that doesn't mean you have to trash actually cool events from the story. I saw a tweet where a guy is fighting tooth and nail to convince people that the next arc doesn't mean anything and it's stupid to be excited for it.

The show's much better than the comic imo, so I actually get excited when something stupid is coming up because I want to see how it will be improved. For example, I thought the young Oliver stuff in the comic was such a goofy idea it was practically unsalvageable, but I've enjoyed all his scenes so far. I'm only disappointed when they don't change anything.

I like all the low stakes "filler" like the last episode better than the viltrumite super saiyan power level stuff. That said, with Amber being basically out of the picture, I was hoping we were done with the commie politics, but if anything it's gotten worse:

Its never gonna end, the writers clearly don't get the parody aspect and insert their ideological bullshit every way they can.

So judging by the preview Amazon posted for the next episode, I'm going to guess the remaining episodes are

Episode 6: The Powerplex one (No duh)

Episode 7: Invincible War

Episode 8: Conquest

I want whatever Kirkman smoked to turn Amber from a ditzy clueless blonde to some kind of girlboss shoving Mark into lockers. Comic did a much better job of making fun of realities of being a superhero. Mark and Amber separate as them as an inderstructible superman and a normal human woman are so incompatible they'd be living two different lives anyway, and Eve admits her sabbatical to "feed starving children in Africa" was all a bullshit excuse to try to forget about Mark so she doesn't steal him from Amber. She also complains about how everything she grew for them withered instantly and how pointless her LiveAid larp was. Show treats it 100% seriously which is unintentionally funny.
Kirkman probably wanted Amber to be smart, but he ended up making her unintentionally a terrible person who gaslit Mark and was acting like an actual bitch who makes everything all about her by even comparing her trust issues of Mark being a superhero to Omni-Man being an alien invader. Its no wonder, Season 2 did its best to make her actually tolerable. There was also the race swap which again is the fault of that Indian Guy who got mad at the Simpsons that made every western show self-conscious about the ethnicity of cartoon characters.

I think the difference is the Boys tries to be a lot more edgy and critical of the genre where Invincible just kinds of celebrates it in all it's goofiness.

Spoilers for the end of the Invincible Comic

I still think it's hilarious that Eve literally dies from old age then a second later rejuvenates to her younger self and Mark's Only reaction is "Neat".
Another thing about The Boys show is that the creator is very intent on wanting to make it topical and more grounded/realistic that the plot armor is even more egregious (especially with how most of the main cast don't have superpowers) whereas Invincible doesn't pretend to be that except for the character drama, which is pretty normal for any superhero media.

I'm a few years late on this, but I despise Amber for treating Mark like a coward who ran away AFTER she knew he was underneath the Invincible costume, risking his life to save her.
This is why I could never take the show seriously, even though the whole internet is busy jacking off to it. I enjoy it, but I don't watch it expecting something deep or smart from it beyond what a 12 year old Redditor can come up with, because it's clear the writers care more about being inclusive instead of writing actual good plots.

I knew about the race swap/personality swap compared to her comic version and gave no fucks about it, but then they also tried to make her this "girlboss who's also too intelligent and knew all along", and yet for some reason nobody working in the show (all "paid professionals", by the way) thought: "Hey, isn't she being a manipulative dick to Mark right now considering she threw a fit while Mark was busy saving people's lives, including her own ass?" They could've made her be surprised when Mark revealed who he was but still be pissed at him for hiding his hero identity from her, but no, she had to be a smartass and entitled about it. It was also terrible how the show tried to paint her as if she was in the right all along, with Mark's friend all telling him he pretty much sucked, and the cherry on top was that when Amber gets back with him at the end of Season 1, she drops the "we were both lied to", as if having your whole life be a lie was as bad as not telling your girlfriend (of about 1 year) that you are a superhero. At least in season 2 they tried to make her be less of a bitch, but it was still jarring to see her change so much offscreen or even see them dating still considering she manipulated Mark by forcing him to tell her that he was Invincible.

I do still have fun seeing Mark struggling with C tier villains despite supposedly being an OP guy who could probably shatter the Earth in half if he shat too hard while being in the bathroom though, it's DBZ all over again.

It has around 20% of social media and search engine traffic compared to The Boys and that's being generous. And far less than mega shows like House of the Dragon, White Lotus, Stranger Things. And less than Amazon's other shows like Reacher or Fallout. It's probably not even in the top twenty most popular shows on Amazon though they'll push it to the front page and advertise it like it's their top show often. I would bet that The Boys spinoff Generation V is more popular than Invincible.

It's just one of those shows where reddit faggots spam it everywhere but almost no one cares about it. This series will basically die out once its finale airs. It won't have any staying power or cultural impact. It's just Marvel or DBZ with lots of gore, nigger and faggot soap opera moments, and curse words.

I don't know how unpopular this is, but the parody aspects really don't do anything for me. I think Invincible is at it's best when it's being sincere

I did not expect the new episode to show a child corpse, thought they would've censored it.

Episode is still pretty good, and I really think Rex is going to die this season, his death flags are popping off.

Weakest episode of the series so far, bordering on filler. You genuinely could forget to watch this episode and barely miss anything. And no, not just because it didn't progress the Viltrum Empire storyline.

Invincible is a serialized show. Its a show that established its characters develop throughout each season. It has multiple open plotlines that play into a broader narrative. Master Liu's resurrection and Machine Heads treachery, Angstrom's Return, Omni-Man's escape from Prison, the development of Mark's sense of right and wrong, etc.

To have this many over-arching plot lines open and only touch on one of them briefly after the credits isn't enough for me. Especially this late in the season, with the gaps between seasons being as inconsistent as they are.

I also feel like this episode didn't develop any of the main characters to a significant extent. The bit where Oliver asked about Omni-Man possibly redeeming himself was kind of interesting, but I think the episode could have gone deeper into that. Even after that, Mark is still a dick to him for no reason. And let's be honest, no one really cares about the Rex / Shrinking Rae and Robot / Monster Girl storylines. They're good to have, but not going to carry an episode on their own.

My other issue was with Powerplex... His characterization was unbelievable to me. I could buy his motivation for revenge. What I couldn't buy were his actions. The guy and his wife had the wherewithall and forethought to steal gov't supertechnology and set up a sting to bait Mark into coming to him. Yet, somehow, he thought it was a good idea to bring the guy he felt killed his sister right to his wife and kid? And furthermore, to pick a fight with that guy 10 feet away from his family, knowing he has the strength to level entire buildings?

I also thought Mark's actions where unbelievable in that fight. He saw the family almost get crushed by bricks. Why not bring the fight outside, or at least retreat and bait the guy out? And he doesn't clap back at the guy after he accused him of killing his family?

Also, this show does NOT portray women in a realistic light. Imagine your current girlfriend arrangenging a bowling event with your ex that you tearfully broke up with mere months prior due to logistics issues. Probably the most unbelievable scene in the entire series for me.

Side tangent, but the race swaps are annoying. I seriously think there is someone at Amazon throwing darts blindfolded at a board with different races drawn on it. Powerplex's sister randomly being black and looking nothing like him was needlessly confusing.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. The leaf looks very conspicuous, front-and-center in the shot. Almost like it was spliced in after the scene was already drawn. My first thought when I saw that scene was that some showrunner saw an opportunity to sneak in a subtle jab at the Trump Tariffs last minute and took it.

I'm not gonna lie, I think I fucking loathe the inclusion of all the celebrity voice actors that don't have a background in VA stuff already.
Having Jesse from Breaking Bad keep screaming HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT for an entire episode's runtime was a fucking meme.
It's especially noticeable when the pro VAs like JK Simmons or Clancy Brown basically steal every scene they're in.

Gotta agree with you on that one. Aaron Paul was the most blatant "He is not doing a voice, he's just playing himself." and I could only picture Jesse Pinkman whenever he talked. Not a bad performance though, just a Jesse Pinkman with superpowers. Bitch.
