Amazon's Invincible - thoughts?

He's obviously Kirkman's answer to thanos; an oh-so-relatable eco-terrorist villain...
Yeah I can't believe Kirkman is so shameless that he would rip off a character a decade before anyone knew who he was.

Eve couldnt magic up a Plan B pill?
This is retarded but unironically maybe not if she plans to swallow it, since the limiter on her ability is entirely a programmed mental block. Like it'd probably be more useful to manifest mustard gas in every fight instead of dumb pink weapons, but if she thinks it counts as fucking with a living body too directly she can't do it under normal circumstances.
Unfortunately she never gets hooked on heroin or anything in the comics so these kinds of edge cases aren't covered iirc.

Yeah I guess if Eve could do that they would just want her to make the super virus fart cloud and kill the Viltrumites that way

The new episodes are fine, nothing really remarkable or unremarkable.
To this day I think the art could be a bit better, the characters are not as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as the comic. The animation continues to need a major budget lift, and Seth Rogan as Allen is both a likable and insufferable casting choice.
I believe I have become jaded as time has gone on but honestly some moments just irked the hell out of me. Like invincible letting Liu, an actual kaiju Chinese dragon that could level cities, leave so he could beat the snot out of a guy that can turn into a rock. Fucking really? Probably plot accurate but infuriating given Mark’s past experiences.
Dinosaurus’s fight was nice and the dialogue is well delivered, but his design is somewhat off putting. For example, in the comics his eyes and expressions have a more reptilian look whilst keeping the emotion, as difficult as that is. In the show he has been given big Barney the dinosaur eyes and it just took me out for a moment.
Shapesmith is annoying as fuck and he has deviated a lot from the comics. Comic shapesmith is way better.
I like the addition of Brit except for that retard boomer moment where he gets pissy that robot went underground against order.

Best episode of the trio was definitely two imo

Also Monster girl and Robot are in flaxan universe now. Get your asses ready for that weird fucking arc between the two.

i think i would like invincible a lot more without invincible at this point. i'd rather watch a mini series centered around eve's bitch father

Yeah or just fly around turning them into steam. She's (explicitly) basically a god, she's just prevented from doing alive matter. And unfortunately she's also too much of a dumb bitch to think ahead and work around that limitation.

*half the comic. I am still annoyed by how many people they let the guy who can't draw people draw.

Thanos was around since the 60s, so Kirkman knowing who he was and basing a character on him in a book that started not long after The Infinity Gauntlet was published isn’t beyond belief.

He was never really some sort of "i'm doing this for the greater good" eco-terrorist until the MCU, though. In the comics he wants to wipe out life because he thinks it'll get him that sweet, sweet skeletal pussy from Death herself.

They didn’t call him The Mad Titan for nothing!

Given the timeframes, it’s not impossible that the Russo Brothers based MCU Thanos partially on the character from Invincible that people think is a Thanos rip-off.

Also because, weirdly, amazon caring less about a show improves the animation quality since they won't force the people working on it to hire celebrity VA's for millions. This allows for much more money to go towards hiring animators, storyboard artists, etc. The people who manage vox machina aren't complete and total retards either.
Animation for Vox machina was good, too bad the story got completely retarded.

Seasons one and two great but season three felt dragged out.
>Retarded turn taking in vapid romantic plot
>Guns bad, only the main protagonist is worthy of such power
>I don't need a god, I believe in muh gurl power
>Being a leader is doing whatever the fuck I want, just pave the way with corpses if we have two
>Daughter subplot
I don't even remember what happened with the sister, But definitely dropped hard in quality.

Don't worry, he doesn't really get any better from this point on.
Never forget that the ending of Invincible is basically just "actually, galactic tyranny would be BASED and BENEVOLENT if I were the one calling all the shots!" and the Viltrumites way of Might Makes Right thinking is entirely justified as Mark becomes the Super Emperor of the Universe with a wife who will never die and nothing bad will ever happen ever again because he has thousands of half bugman viltrumites. Nevermind all the people that 100% would've died when Mark decided that he needed to conquer the Coalition in the name of peace through a massive war and invasion. Basically no lessons were learned at all, and the god emperor superdictator will reign eternal.

Mark is unimaginably annoying and childish and I hate the fact that Eve continues to baby him.
They also decided to turn Tech Jacket into a girl when a large part of his character is built around the fact that he's a man and a lot of the dialogue would just sound weird and retarded with a woman saying it.

That's gonna get altered in some way, right? No way that flies nowadays.

Maybe? There have been some decent changes (specifically to characters) such as Debbie's arc, Rex's arc, and how they revamped Rudy and Amanda to make their relationship less creepy in implication. The Conquest fight is still a highlight and I fuck heavy with Brit. However, the show has made a lot of retarded choices and continues to keep a lot of the comic's mistakes, so I wouldn't be surprised if they kept that ending. They've kept straight with most of the big plot points, most of the characters function the same as in the comic, and little has been done regarding Mark being a competent (hell, even likeable) protagonist. Kirkman sucks when it comes to endings (ex The Walking Dead), so I would not hope for much.

Honestly, I've found myself hesitant to continue the show because of a lot of complaints here. The animation is still ass, the gay and sex jokes remain prevalent, most episodes are a slog to get through, and I find a lot of plot points a waste. I don't like Nolan or Allen so their scenes irritate me, Mark is a big baby and his mom should've beat him when he was younger so he'd stop acting like such a little bitch, and they need to stop hiring celeb VAs, seriously. Also, Eve is literally God, why the fuck is she so retarded when it comes to using her powers when she was way more compitent in her special? Plus the fandom is a hot garbage mixture of annoying, unfunny teenagers, men without father figures, and rabid progshits + fujos. I would not be surprised if they keep that ending because Kirkman and his ilk seem the type to unironically believe that dictatorship isn't that bad if the """"right"""" people are in charge. What's a couple more massacres if the victims have the "wrong" opinions? Good God, everything went way down after the Viltrumite Invasion.
