That's gonna be weird when Oliver turns into an adult two months from now
There's nothing stopping them from making his aging slow so they can have a cringey teen romance storyline now that Mark and Eve are adults.

Edit: The more I think about it, the more likely this seems since Robot and Monster Girl were filling the role of cringey teens in a relationship after Mark and Eve/Amber.

I watched the first season then read the comic online, I liked it well enough but feel no need to watch the other seasons I did the same with the walking dead actually. I don't dislike Robert Kirkmans writing it just didn't really grip me, I read it all the way through just to see where it was going but now I know I've kinda lost all interest. I'm not a media literacy enjoyer so i cant't really explain it, but the plot and the worlds are good but I haven't got the interest to see the characters go through them again.

Why can't Oliver just be gay and have gay man-on-man anal buttsecks with a gay male Tech Jacket? Graphically, onscreen, with closeups? You guys say this show is woke but it seems pretty homophobic if you ask me. WHERE IS THE SODOMY

Because Kirkman hates gays, it's why William's boyfriend had to suffer.
i was hoping we would get more with william's boyfriend after donald tells him that being a cyborg is actually pretty cool. i'd love to see him try to step up and be a hero or maybe get a little more complex and have him work with cecil and donald, drive mark a little crazier with the whole sinclair thing.

Yeah, it's really weird that they have all these opportunities to change things that could have been better in the comics but they pick the dumbest things to change.

I can't remember what reason Mark had for not immediately killing Cecil when he got back. Compared to the comic, cartoon Mark has every reason to just kill him. Blatantly switching to whatever argument that guilt trips Mark into doing what he says, doing the most retarded job at seemingly like a neutral party when he already tried to snatch Oliver when he was just a baby, and the biggest fuck of them all with Conquest.

But this Mark is a total bitch.

i dont think anything happens between them after this. maybe the show will add something idk. thats an episode 8 issue if it even pops up.

It went on for so fucking long, like unbearably long lmfao.
Cartoon gore doesn't normally squick me out but with this I was recoiling. Goddamn.

This episode was welcome step-up after the weird Satan one - really liked the interaction between Nolan and the costumer guy (forget his name) "I... Only dress heroes, Nolan." and then we see him hyperventilating in terror after he leaves.

On the subject of Atom Eve, dude I don’t know the limits of her powers but based on what we’ve seen the only explanation I can think of is that she’s mentally deficient. You have control over matter itself, nigga just turn Conquest’s skull to cesium and blow his shit smoove off. Or just turn his brain into literal marshmallow. Doesn’t work on organic matter for reasons? Turn the air in his lungs into something nasty, use your imagination.
Idk man but the problem with matter warping powers is that they’re so OP you either have to handicap the character’s powers, have them be dumb as shit, or have them literally be Dr. Manhattan and be a god with motives beyond comprehension or else every problem would be solved by lunch and there wouldn’t be a plot. Atom Eve is dumb as shit, she even went into architecture instead of chemistry like that’s gonna help her do anything but play Minecraft IRL.
As a character she’s just boring to me. I just don’t care about her storylines because she’s so bland and most of her arcs wouldn’t even exist were she not dumb as a box of rocks. Oh, being a superhero has collateral damage? How long have you been a hero, this is day one shit. Oh, people may not like you because you failed them and didn’t even know it? Bro people have issues with normal police and they can’t even fly, welcome to the job. Your dad hates the guys you bring home? Yeah, your boyfriend and his dad had a little sparring match and leveled a good amount of Chicago, there’s probably a cute architect you can snag without any baggage.
And if they wanted her dad to be le bad instead of le chudly, legit the shit this dude says in the comics apropos of nothing to Mark while smoking a cigar is legit weird. Like bro, not the time or place to be discussing the virtues of virginity. It goes to the bigger issue where the writer is just bad at writing men/women dynamics, aside from Debbie and Nolan I just don’t find any compelling and I’m pretty sure that was all stuff unique to the show.

I'll say I think the hell episode had one or two interesting tidbits but it really was just shit filler that should've been at most 20 minutes, especially turning Volcanikka into a literal chump, not actually solving Mark's doubts and impromptu thrashing on religion for shock value. Mark visiting hell while having a moral dilemma is great and campy though, and I think what Damien says about Earth being made into heaven kinda makes sense when you're talking about a setting with superheroes. Like why can't you turn Earth into an Utopia given you have a Superman, super geniuses and crazy advanced sci-fi tech? Hell, Tyrannosaurus and Robot kind of end up doing that by fixing most of the world's problems in the end.

Yeah, she can't normally affect intelligent life or anything in them unless she's on the verge of death. It's a little silly how they explained it away, but the real problem is how she just makes pink balls to attack 99% of the time. There's definitely enough room to make an interesting middle ground but that would require Kirkman to use that shriveled mass in his cavernous skull.

Just wait until she gets fat.

This honestly could have been an interesting storyline, contrasting the idealism of wanting to be a hero as a kid and getting beat down by life not working out that way as an adult is definitely something, but that angle is barely even there. Eve screwed up one time and went to college and that's it, and now she's not even focusing on rebuilding cities. There was just no real point to it.

Eve's dad is such a frustrating character because I don't think he's all that unreasonable. A lot was dropped into his lap with no warning and no support and Rex was a complete bum that any dad would be furious to discover was dating his daughter. It feels like they're trying to spin it as him hating his daughter, but everything he's done shows he cares deeply about her because he doesn't want her out there getting her face smashed in and beaten into a coma.

There's definitely enough room to make an interesting middle ground but that would require Kirkman to use that shriveled mass in his cavernous skull.
It’s one of those situations where how well it’s handled is directly correlated to how smart the writer is. Reminds me of this:

If the writer’s dumb, they just can’t use powers like this to good effect because they can’t think about how someone smart would use them, or even put limits on it so that a smart person couldn’t just trap Conquest in a pink orb and make the air inside hotter than the Sun or whatever.

William was actually pretty cool in the first season but oh my god he's such an obnoxious fag in this season.
I still don't get why they made Tech Jacket a woman.

If she's not there for some sort of relationship with Oliver, they probably should have had her do something other than hang out with Oliver and fail to hurt Viltrumites for the majority of her scenes.

>turns a character into a woman so they can ship Oliver with them
Wokeness reaches a point where it turns back into conservatism cause they totally could've just made it gay. They already have William and added in a gay invincible variant so it's not like it'd be new territory for the show.
