I'm still struggling to understand how it is that so many Anti-GG'ers claim to be developers, yet none of them are capable of supporting themselves by making games. It displays a startling lack of awareness of how any kind of job or business actually works.
A large number of them are birdmen who get swept up by the indie craze that followed the discovery and explosion of minecraft.
well not just minecraft, edmund mcmillen comes to mind too.
take one part: seeing success and ignoring failure (i can only name 3 indie games, that must mean there's only 3 indy games)
add some ego (these successful games are creative, i am creative, QED i will make a great game and get money)
two parts ignorance (i thought super meat boy was edmund's first game / i thought SMB took only a few hours to make)
stuff in some lazyness (i only make ideas, i can hire people to make the game for me, and i get all the credit)
and bad fiscal management (i bought this car with my kickstarter money)
and after the game is done
add more ego (THEY DIDNT LIKE MY GAME BECAUSE I AM TRANS/FEMALE OR THEY ARE DUMB #KILLALLMEN #GAMERSAREDED)
that's pretty much every single one
where as someone like edmund.
he seems rather humble, he seems nice (although he says he's not nice, he seems nice when he needs to be)
he put in a ton of work, he made several games before he got big, he worked on games before he made his own
he actually climbed up the ladder on his own.
