There's a big difference between setting a date then inviting guests. That's why people get those "Save the Date" cards, so people know to hold off on making plans on that date before getting an official invite.

An engagement should be a happy, joyous occasion. Lots of celebrating, calling and telling loved ones e.t.c. so I get what you're saying. As her "close" friends, you'd assume they'd know the date already. Having said all this, with the way Amber is getting all cunty about people knowing she's engaged, she has no intention of following through with a marriage. It's the only reason I can think of that she would ask Becky to remove or hide the announcement and get all cagey about the topic.
