Laparoscopic surgery for gallbladder removal is feasible on morbidly or super morbidly obese patients. I have no doubt she has gallstones; many obese people do.

There's a huge difference between being a fatty or an obese person having cholecystectomy surgery and being an absolute deathfat. A BMI of 40 is already considered morbidly obese. Even IF she was only at 300lb at the time, ALR was still around a 55 BMI. Gallstones are rarely deadly, sure they can be very painful. These days though it's not easy to get them removed especially for super duper morbidly obese folk.

Instead of paying $800 a month for her pretend psychologist, she could always pay a genuine dietician to write her out a diet plan and then stick to it.

When was the last time you saw a registered dietician? Just interested because I've seen a few over the last 6 years or so and none of them offered any kind of diet plan. It was always everything in moderation. Some would give a calorie guideline, but definitely no meal plans ever and not even one of them supported my (required by endocrinologist) low carbohydrate diet. That's why I've seen many, because there's no point going to dietician that won't support your medical needs because their training is so anti-restriction and so high carbohydrate focussed. They pander to the diabetics and to the obese, because that's the two major categories where the majority of their patients fit.

Ironically, I think it’s most likely she has the one she never really leaned into - ADHD. Her hyper-focus is food. She gets obsessed with things, hoards them, then forgets them. She needs timers to function during the day. She’s constantly distracted and forgetful, despite having a life that doesn’t require much thinking, to say the least. She’s extremely impulsive. She misses important details all the time, like ordering the right thing online (I think she is actually genuinely surprised when she gets a Torrid dress in a size/style she doesn’t remember ordering), when banks are open, all the steps for planning events. She loses things all the time and can’t follow simple recipes.

Given that ADHD is the closest thing to her ideal, “take a pill and forget about it” type of care, it’s odd she never ran with that. My guess is that either (a) her life is so fucking dull and undemanding that she can’t actually demonstrate any significant impairment for the diagnosis, (b) she doesn’t qualify due to having none of the restlessness behaviors mentally or physically, or (c) prescribing amphetamines is contraindicated for someone with her BP, BMI, or lack of ability to comply with rules for prescription of a controlled substance.

Or it’s that every physician who’s seen her has thought, wow, ADHD is the least of your problems.

I’ve always wondered why she didn’t go fudge the ADD test and get a script for stimulants. She could lose weight so fast she would dissolve, especially if she got on Vyvanse. I know someone who was maybe 150lb who took it for a month and the doctor took them right back off of it because they were already down to 125lb in 4 weeks. Imagine someone Amber’s size taking it.

I mean yeah, she’d just be cracked out on stimulants instead of fat and it wouldn’t solve her problems long term or whatever, but it would be entertaining for us (unlike her current content) and she would finally be skinny
