Yes I'm well aware, this is how I always quote. It was inserting the quote into my post that wasn't working. TRW is the reason I need to use TOR, which is annoying and slow and doesn't always play well with reactions, quoting, etc.
Yeah, that happens to me a lot, too. Like, a LOT. I thought it was just me because of the janky setup I have going on. It also doesn't let me quote when I have to edit a post due to forgetting to say something. Sometimes when it's acting up I have to do this workaround:
- Highlight text then rightclick and copy
- Paste into the response box
- Add @[farmer's name] on the line above
- Highlight the whole shebam
- Click the quote button [ " ] in the menu with the 3 vertical dots ("more options")
It puts the entire thing into a pretty quote box, except that it doesn't say "[farmer's name] said:" with the up arrow and ability to be taken to the post where the comment came from. It also doesn't colour the name green. You can manually change the colour of the name to make it blend, but it might look janky as the colour theme changes throughout the year (or if someone manually chooses a different theme). Sometimes I change the colour anyway to try and make it blend, but I'm sure the regulars on the site look at it and think to themselves "what is that newfag Boolean 'tard trying to do with the quotes!?" The box doesn't work like a proper quote box, so if you leave out the @, the farmer won't get the notification that you're talking about them. Though if you're on mobile, it's proabably a total pain in the ass to do all that.
