You can look at any state’s esa requirements and they are going to say you need a letter from a certified mental health professional. There is no way to even validate the relationship between the letter writer and animal owner. Confirming if someone is a patient is a HIPAA violation.

i suppose if you have a legit online therapist mental health provider, it could be a way to get a letter like a regular in person therapist, though it would be shitty of something to take advantage of the esa system by seeing them once and getting a letter from one session knowing it couldn't be proven they did it that way. so you seem to be correct in that factor, so my bad. People take advantage of the EA system CONSTANTLY so they can just bring their pets wherever they want. Its giving actual service animals a bad name. Its like "marijuana cards".
