Going to be autistic for a moment because I don't usually see this possibility brought up (spoiler in case you prefer to skip the unprofessional psychological analysis):

I don't think BPD is too far off, but what we have in terms of actual diagnostic criteria from her posts is somewhat limited. A lot of the criteria (i.e. chronic feelings of emptiness, identity disturbances. dissociation) we only have her oh-so-reliable word to go on. There also isn't a whole lot of documented evidence of several of the more "visible" diagnostic criteria for BPD. (i.e., of the typical "splitting" someone with BPD will go through - essentially swinging back and forth from highly idolizing their favorite person to despising them almost instantly, inappropriate anger). It also makes me extremely suspicious that she got her "diagnosis" at the height of when it was trendy to be mentally ill (particularly illnesses like BPD, DID, Schizophrenia, etc.). The way she describes a lot of the symptoms she has, it just sounds like she read up on what the diagnostic criteria for BPD are, or what the typical behaviors of someone with BPD are, and integrated those buzzwords into her speech. It seems like the only diagnostic criteria she fits are the emotional instability, impulsive behavior, and self-harming behavior (in the form of her overeating). But even using her overeating as a "self-harming" behavior seems like a stretch - from the way she engages with it, I'd mostly place it under the "impulsive behavior" category.

Something I have been thinking about is HPD - similarly, it is a cluster B personality disorder, however, the difference seems mostly to be that the actions of those with BPD are driven by a fear of abandonment, while those with HPD are driven by a need for attention and admiration. However, I will admit that there is a lot we don't see, because there isn't a camera rolling 24/7.

Diagnosis criteria for histrionic personality disorder

In order to make a diagnosis of histrionic personality disorder, a psychological examination is necessary, along with a general evaluation of the patient’s behavior and overall appearance.

There is no set test to determine whether someone has histrionic personality disorder. Previously, a number of pointers were specified in an earlier edition of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders in order to help clinicians make a diagnosis). At least five of the following traits needed to be recorded for a diagnosis to be indicated:

  • A compulsion to be the center of attention that results in discomfort if unmet
  • Inappropriate sexual, seductive or provocative behavior when interacting with others
  • Shallow, rapidly shifting emotions
  • The use of physical appearance to draw others’ attention
  • Dramatic, impressionistic speech that lacks detail
  • Exaggerated, theatrical emotional expression
  • Easily influenced by others or situations
  • Assumes relationships are more intimate than they are

I would say she hits every single one of these diagnostic criteria fairly frequently, and very obviously. The more recent examples I can think without frying my brain on a deep dive include:

  • The texts that came out from the group chat she was in with Becky, Destiny, and Dana - while Destiny is mourning the fact her mom died, Amber needs to make it all about the fact she didn't get to do anything for her birthday. Being upset that Destiny is going to a child's birthday and not hers.
  • The whole pedolynn situation (the name of the underage girl escapes me at the moment). Talking about her sex life on stream.
  • Several situations where she will seem to act deeply hurt and cry, and then all of a sudden continue the video like nothing is wrong. (Shown in a couple of her vlogmas videos after Rarity's heroic escape, as well as videos when she's talking about her cancer diagnosis and Becky's commentary on it).
  • Wearing clothes that seem to accentuate how fat she is - admittedly this could also be her not knowing how clothing sizing works, though with all of the clothes she orders, you'd think she'd get it by now. Makeup in almost every single video, sheer shirts.
  • Not even sure how to pull a specific example of dramatic, impressionistic speech. Literally every single one of her videos has an instance of her speaking like this.
  • See above point, she's a drama queen beyond the point of being a drama queen.
  • We see her pick up the traits of everyone around her - particularly her girlfriends and reaction channels. I believe this is where her beepeedee diagnosis came from - wasn't one of her exes or ex-friends diagnosed with BPD?
  • Admittedly, I did have trouble finding evidence of the final diagnostic criteria, other than advancing her friendships and relationships at lightspeed generally under the assumption they feel the same way about her.
Though rare, there are cases where HPD and BPD can be comorbid (histrionic borderline personality disorder) but it seems highly unlikely in her case. We'll keep seeing her give examples of her "BPD" because that is what she sees as being the coolest diagnosis that will get her the most attention, and because she never shuts the fuck up about it.

TL;DR: Read the DSM5 diagnostic criteria for HPD.

He’s been debunking pretty much all of her stupid lies in his videos and getting more and more mad at the internet as he does lol Including the lah about in patient therapy in OKC costing her 250k at a bare minimum
He reminds me of a disappointed dad that progressively gets more upset with his kid for not learning from their mistakes

Iirc he was mainly questioning whether she actually got the diagnoses for both of these conditions because it requires extensive testing. During the wipey/wls surgery arc she said the doctor took one look at her legs and said not only does she have lymphedema but she also has lipedema! Which isn’t how any of that works

FWIW I don’t doubt that she has one or the other but let’s not act like a 5’3 woman at 550/600 pounds wouldn’t be a big blobby mess without those conditions lol

$10 says Jade had to periodically wake up throughout the night to look in and make sure Amber hadn’t choked to death on her own neck fat /fat tongue in her sleep the night she decided chugging whiskey (forgive me if it was a different brown liquor) was a good idea.
That’s about the only time I can recall seeing her non-performatively drunk at the massive size she is now.
