Maybe because she always needs to lean on something after a short amount of time she's up?
She forgot that time when she fell while taking a shower and it took more than 10 minutes plus Destiny to help her get up. Why is she so confused that people wonder how she manages to do things... doesn't she have a mirror? She's so delusional

I honestly get sad whenever I see clips of her trying to go down those stairs at Destiny's house. I remember at one point she tried to explain it away by saying that those stairs aren't like normal stairs. Okay, I can believe that they could be steeper or have different dimensions than what is considered "standard" but a healthy person could still traverse them with no problem, even if they need to slow it down a bit to prevent falling.

In one of her last YouNow's with Rafe Amber claimed she couldn't read the screen because she left her glasses upstairs. Rafe told her to go get them and Amber looked at her like she had 3 heads and said "Hellll no" under her breath. As if going upstairs was some insurmountable task.

I firmly believe she wakes up in the morning and comes downstairs for the day and doesn't go back up until she goes to bed that night. If she needs something from upstairs in the meantime then she's just outta luck.

It's cute that she thinks that a bike would be able to support her weight. The tires would be empty or bent in 10 seconds.

She did say on her last YouNow that she has crazy ideas to get views. Then she replied with "But I'm not a troller." I didn't know "Troller" was a word, but yeah. Her on a bike would be a visual to remember.

I'm just now watching her most recent Q&A (yeah, I'm late) but when she talks about where she wants to be in 5 years she says MAYBE at her goal weight but that seems "far-fetched." I know weight loss can take time, but is it really so "far-fetched" like she said? Let's pretend she is 470lbs. Isn't her goal 150? So 320lbs in 5 years. It's not impossible, right? Well, maybe for AL it is...

She has said her goal weight is 199, which means she needs to lose 271lbs To reach that in 5 years, she has to lose about exactly 1 pound per week. That is not far-fetched by any stretch of the imagination. Hell she could easily lose that weight in half that time if she actually got motivated and stuck to her plan.

It will get harder for her to lose weight the smaller she gets because she is going to have quite a bit of weight in the extra skin that's not fully going to shrink into place. Her age is on her side right now as that will help with that because her skin is still pretty elastic, but she's still going to carry extra weight in skin no matter what she does. But still, she will be immeasurably more healthy at 200lbs with extra skin than she is now.

Hell if she got serious and actually lost that weight, she probably COULD get some kind of crowdfunding going for people to help her pay for skin surgery or treatments she may need for her legs (because I think her lymphatic system is fucked)

It's not impossible but very difficult to do, especially without surgery. This was discussed a few pages back but yeah, losing 320 pounds, even over a half-decade is a daunting task and probably, as AL says, far-fetched, unless she does go through with surgery but I don't see that likely.

It can be done but it takes extraordinary commitment. AL should lose weight. Even if she dropped 200 pounds in five years, she'd be infinitely more healthier than she is now - even if she would still be considered obese. But 320 pounds is a lot of weight to lose for anyone.

Grifter Ragen Chastain of IronFlop had to work hard to find a bike that'd support a 350-pound woman, and even then had to modify it to dangerous levels in order to even consider it viable for use. Even then, her ultra-sized gut meant that every time she used the bike she was kneeing herself in the stomach with every upstroke of her legs. (In the blog entry I saw she was talking about bruising herself and needing extensive recovery time from the injuries she did herself with one long-ish ride.) And her stubby arms and legs mean she can't steer the bike or set her feet on the ground while riding, nor brake the bike or even come to a stop without flinging herself off of it. She's refused to allow her readers see her actually riding on the bike. She's never actually had to demonstrate competence using it, since she's either flushed out of her two IM tries by not finishing the first part of the event or just not showing up at all, respectively.

Eric Hite, the grifting fat guy who at one point was saying to Dr. Phil that he totally was gonna ride from one end of America to the other, actually found a bike that'd somewhat support a 500-pound man, but riding proved to be next to impossible for him. Like a lot of other super-obese people including Ragen, he had this idea that he could out-exercise his horrific eating habits. But his constant tacoing made that difficult. He's retreated completely from his onetime stated goal of riding across the country amid much mockery.

So maybe it's not a bad thing that Big AL can't get the money together for a bike she could actually ride. I can't see what the point would be even if she could. She physically isn't capable of much movement, so a bike will wear her out fast before giving her transport anywhere, and she'll just eat more to compensate and reward herself afterward. And she already is dangerously close to blowing out her knees and ankles--if that Charcot foot situation doesn't immobilize her first. She needs to eat significantly less and get down to a healthier weight, then talk to her doctor about safe exercise. But all of that requires that she care enough about her future to do something about her uncontrolled eating, and as she said, she cares. .. just nowhere near enough.

She can't even navigate stairs without significant effort. She can't ride a bike. Or dance. Or manage a curb. Or walk without waddling like the Penguin. But she can still eat and talk trash and make socks on YouTube, so slaaaaaayyyyyy goooooorrrrrl!

No, it sure isn't far-fetched. At 500+ pounds it would go faster than that. Those really big folks tend to just melt away when they finally get serious about losing weight. Their big danger is getting totally discouraged when they get small enough that the food sacrifices they must make to be under TDEE start to feel restrictive and they're not destroying their goals so fast. But Hamber is nowhere near serious about it yet and may never be. Her addictions are too powerful at this point. She has a lot to iron out in her addled spherical head before she can get control of her eating.

On that note, it's goddamned weird how so many hugely-obese people set these weight loss goals that leave them still actually morbidly obese. I don't get it. Are they scared of being out of the danger zone, scared they will never be an ideal weight, totally out of whack about what a healthy weight actually is, what? But a lot of them do that with their goals.

I used one of those adult tricycles one time because I'm clumsy as hell and didn't want to risk falling on a regular bike. The seats are wider than a standard bike but Amber would still need something specialized to support her.

She doesn't even need to bike, she just needs to WALK. She's made excuses about it being hot or there being bugs in KY... well, yeah, that's true. All it takes is waiting until just before or right at sunset to take a walk. And there's also this neat invention called bug spray. It's useless trying to reason with her because she has an endless bag of excuses.

One time in a YN broadcast I asked her if she ever gets called out or made fun of in public and she says no. BULLSHIT. Amber on a bike or tricycle would be quite the sight for passersby, you can't tell me she wouldn't be made fun of left and right if she tried to go out in public like that. And that's really sad, honestly... feeling like you're a freak show act has to feel like shit.

Not gonna lie, I used one of those adult tricycles on a beach trip when I was pregnant (I'm not fat, 5'7" and 123lbs) because I'm clumsy and uncoordinated as hell and didn't want to risk falling on a regular bike. The seats are wider than a standard bike but Amber would still need something specialized to support her.

I used to weigh 185lbs and even at that weight there were several times that I had comments shouted out to me in public about my weight. Sorry for any PL-ing in this post.

In the pride vlog where they were stranded on the side of the road, you know that people in the cars passing by were saying stuff about her. Maybe she's just oblivious to stuff like that? Isn't there a guy on her younow streams that she thinks is her friend, but based on things he says, he's not really a fan of her?

Edit: fixed my typo

Those stairs are all the exercise she needs. She doesn't have to leave her house if she really wants to move around. But some of that weight has got to come off first. She is putting dangerous amounts of pressure on her joints as it is with a completely sedentary life. People smaller than her literally snap their leg bones in half doing the little moving around she's already doing, even just lumbering from their beds to their bathrooms, if they don't brace themselves just right and go very slowly, and then there's the risk of overtaxing her heart or giving herself a stroke or something by getting her blood pressure higher than it already is. Fatties who get delusional about exercise are their own biggest dangers. Hamber's body is already pushing to the limit. She eats like shit, she's not on anything to control what must be shockingly bad beetus and high blood pressure and cholesterol stats, she's probably got the enlarged flabby heart, fatty liver, and piss-poor oxygenation levels of most people her size, and she's completely sedentary. God, I really hope she doesn't suddenly get the idea that she needs to buy super-sized cute workout togs and start jogging or whatever ridiculous thing she works up.

It may have been said before, but doesn't her sudden dependence on glasses seem odd? I remember her having them in past years but never had she had to squint and claim she can't see a screen at all. Undiagnosed beetus causes deterioration of eyesight, yes?

At my highest weight I was still half of what AL weighs and, no lie, wiping was an issue. I don't believe for a second that she doesn't have problems in that department. I can only go by my own experiences but, if I suddenly doubled in weight at my highest, I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to even reach my vagina without some serious shape shifting.

Yes. I'm Type 1 and go in for a diabetic eye exam every year. If you are undiagnosed, eye issues and pain in your extremities are two very prevalent complications.

:powerlevel: I had a friend whose house had these ridiculously tiny stepped-stairs. You had to either plant your feet sideways or use only 1/4 of your foot at a time. However, the issue I had was typically going up, not down, and AL is so huge that it is impossible to actually judge the size of the stairs.
