I don't understand why she keeps saying WLS isn't for everyone - in her situation, yes, it is the ideal option for her. Assuming a weight of 470 lbs at 5'2 (is she 5'2? whatever close enough) and using the less invasive choice of a gastric band procedure;
  • 80% of patients reach at least 319 lbs 18 months after surgery (151 lbs or 32% of total weight).
  • 50% of patients reach at least 290 lbs 18 months after surgery (180 lbs or 38% of total weight).
  • 20% of patients reach 261 lbs 18 months after surgery (209 lbs or 44% of total weight).

Because of her massive size this surgery would be considered a medical emergency. She wouldn’t have to do all of the jumping through hoops to get it- losing weight before, the

I don’t know. I kind of agree with AL. Is it the best chance she has? Yes, but from her inability to stick to a diet at all, I don’t think she could handle the bariatric diet for the rest of her life. She would probably still over eat and not lose. Reminds me of someone else on YouTube who could be a potential lolcow. https://youtu.be/mqc9ql5juxM Msbeautifulalicia. She had WLS, lost some, had body surgery, and is steadily gaining it all back. Both lack any kind of impulse control.

I suspect she was referring to the time she was in foster care. Amber has bragged more than once about being a trouble maker while in school. Wouldn't social services send her to a psychologist if that was the case?

I think she was too, and in doing that was being dishonest because the person asked her if she is currently (i hate that word now tbh) seeing one. According to her, she went to a number of therapists during her childhood but none of them ever "clicked" with her. She also is saying she has seen 1 therapist since aging out of foster care.

I'm gonna have to agree with you--is it technically the best to get the weight off? Yes, absolutely. Is it best for Amber specifically? No lol she'd get it and gain it back like that person you mentioned-- if she could even go through with the procedure.

Her reactions to needles and Rarity's spay procedure has me convinced she wouldn't even make it to the consultation appointment, much less the therapy that is required for a procedure such as WLS.

But in the long run it's an argument of an attempt to save her life with a high likelihood of not working vs surely eating herself into an early grave, no?

It's akin to giving a liver transplant to an alcoholic who chooses to not stop drinking. If I'm not mistaken, alcoholics cannot get into a liver transplant waiting list.

One of the reasons a psych evaluation is done in people seeking WLS is to assess their chances of going back to bad eating habits. In a perfect world people who are unwilling to change would be denied. (and yes, refusing therapy for an eating disorder falls under unwilling to change)

In other news (although I may be late) this looks like a picture of the Reid siblings back in the day. AL being super active on a scooter. Nothing's changed...

Edit: Looks like it was already posted in the "AL posts stupid shit on SnapChat" thread. My bad.

"When bae tells you it's shower day"
She put the plastic bag on her head so her precious new 'do isn't ruined while Becks hoses AL down on the porch.

Anything to distract you from the fact that she has given up on her “diet”, and failed her promise about weigh ins. Not to mention Kasey coming out again to defend himself against AL’s bullshit lies. But sure AL let’s talk about tattoos, your hair, and buying useless shit.

Around the time of Rarity's spay, at that. Her fibs have been ambitious this month!

I wonder if her real New Years resolution was to lie even more.

How does she manage to have eyebrows that are both sparse AND chunky?
I think her original eyebrows were probably chunky, but her head is so large now that the skin has stretched a bit so her eyebrows appear sparse.
