To be fair, Wellbutrin does come in different formulas depending on the time frame of it being “released” or I guess digested.
If AL’s taking it twice a day then she’s probably on Wellbutrin SR vs slower released XL.

It’s also possible that AL is confusing generics with brand name but who really knows with her aka she’s likely just making shit up.

Listening to Amber is not much different than listening to someone with English as a second language. It'd be fascinating if it wasn't so damn pathetic. She either uses incorrect words or phrasing to try to explain things, or she is incredibly vague with her responses ("different kind of Wellbutrin") and often ends up creating more questions from her responses, which in turn just fuels the haydurz.

Most people would ask their doctor a number of questions about their health concerns and especially about any medications they are prescribed. I think she probably referring to a generic Wellbutrin (Bupropion) but just doesn't have the intelligence to articulate that.

I did some Googling and got an estimated out-of-pocket cost for Bupropion at about $84 per month for Amber's current dosage. That, plus the out-of-pocket costs for any follow-up vists and tests (which she won't get) as well as the per-visit costs of the therapist she is supposedly "waiting for a call" from and she will not be able to afford her care unless she halts all unnecessary purchases and stops eating out every day. Even then, it's going to be a stretch.

I think we can all safely say that she won't even keep up with the Wellbutrin (the different one) for more than one month and she will never see a therapist and she will never see a gynecologist (which I'm positive would have been recommended to any woman at her age who hasn't been to a doctor in 10 years) and will never get more in depth blood tests (which I'm positive would've been recommended based on her size alone). I'm fairly certain the labs they did were in relation to prescribing Wellbutrin unless she told the Dr. that she was previously prescribed it and responded well to it. Any doctor would order blood work before prescribing an anti depressant to ensure that there isn't an underlying hormonal or thyroid issue. So, she either went to a Doc-in-the-box who likely gave a cursory are you alive examination, or she's lying because she knows she can't afford the follow up or she knows deep down she's too lazy to do it. I think that's why the email looks so odd. I think she edited parts of the conversation and kept the one thing in that was positive. I refuse to believe a licensed medical provider would have just left a 500+lb patient off with a, hey, your labs look good. Lovely weather we're having!

idk if that's normal in the US, but i've never seen anyone get their lab results the way she did...
again, this is may be purely because of the difference in health care systems, but damn
the doctor just sent her an e-mail saying "ur ok"?? what the hell
im not asking her to show anything private, but she didn't even imply she got a detalization of her results, and that's basic stuff! just to see what's wrong and what's ok, to have that with you... this was so weird to me
the e-mail was unofficial and so bizarre... i was skeptical, but now im just weirded out tbh
the only test she's gonna take is a blood test? what the actual
even if you're not an obese person there is so much more to these check ups, especially if you havent seen a doctor for so long
im just baffled by this whole thing

either way, i hope she wont go celebrate the "results" (which still seem so fucking sketchy) to treat herself to some mexican

It's possible that she went through the portal and that was the initial response, but what's clearly missing is the lack of follow up. Any doctor worth anything would have a list of recommendations for further blood work, a gynecologist, a therapist, a follow up appointment to check up on how that AD is working. She had to have edited the shit out that email chain if, indeed, the entire thing isn't forged. No licensed medical professional would ever let a woman her age who has not seen a doctor whatsoever in 10 years go with a routine blood panel and say, yep, it's all good here! Especially when that woman is over 500 elbees. There is no way. It would be malpractice.

Okay, Amber, except the way you want Becky to deal with your Hamber-Is-Hungry episodes is to do exactly as she's told otherwise she'll be verbally abused while her piece of shit "best friends" watch. It's up to the person with mental illnesses to get help and to appreciate their partners for being supportive and helping them get better. This doesn't all fall on Becky.

Long time lurker here, I had to post after she posted her results, does anyone else think the emails are complete crap? There's no signature, no hospital logo or anything. Anyone could name a contact 'Portal General' and send emails to themselves, not to mention the person responding to her sounds like she's communicating with a personal friend rather than a patient..

Agreed. I thought it was kind of weird that a doctor wouldn't capitalize letters. Even Amber used capitalization in her replies.

Shit. Seriously, she's going to milk it for all it's worth. "I'm mean and I just black out sometimes, y'all, but it's muh derpreshun. Just ask Becky, she totally gets it". Pan over to Becky looking defeated and borderline catatonic. Eric reading comments from haydurs. Ricky conspicuously missing because he's an adult with a fucking job.

I just can't believe no one steps in to defend Becky. Sure, I'd be terrified of a 500 pound beast waddling towards me, demanding it be fed the greasiest foods, but you'd think Eric would at least make a real effort to protect his best friend, even if it's just pulling Becky aside privately and telling her what Amber is doing is wrong and inexcusable.

But lol who am I kidding? As if Eric and Becky can be alone. He'd have to catch Becky while Amber struggles to go to the bathroom if he wanted to get longer than ten seconds with her.
