Apologies for long but I’ve been sitting on a theory for a bit regarding her quitting lol no I’m back deal. Particularly that a interesting shift is taking place recently. Some of it is health related but I thought it would be more appropriate here.

What are the two things narcs hate more then anything else? Having their lies exposed and even more so having their persona exposed.

Now I’ve been waiting for a thread on here to start some issues, the “amber and the eating disorder community” one. I think in addition to Eric’s exposing her, she was shocked and dumbfounded to know the full extent of how her fellow “eating disorder gorls” view her.

With contempt, as a warning, as a big fat joke. And I’m wondering if both of those events have had her on the hissyfit to end all hissyfits. Having her name shadowbanned may have given her an idea but I doubt she realized the full depth of their loathing toward her. Most importantly that not one person I’ve seen has believed in the proana/ED shit thinks she has an eating disorder.

She’s been a lot quieter and cuntier since that thread came on. I think it’s a sign she’s losing her shit. Similar to Chantal she believes her bullshit so much and she’s truly beside herself when people see through it. And as people who genuinely binge, the Ed community can see thru her shit. I don’t think she had any clue not only how easy it is to prove her wrong. But the disdain they have toward her because she tries to be the poster child for BED. She will never be accepted as a dainty innocent victim in the one community she has been desperate to be in. Both to feel feminine (something I think both Chantal and amber and any FA tard views an eating disorder as) and to have an excuse. But having her viewed as a flat out *monster* even more then normies do?

I think it also shattered her view of fitting into any community. Having an eating disorder was such a core part of her personality, without that it all crumbles. It’s on par if proof came out she wasn’t a foster kid or her parents weren’t actually drug addicts. It wasn’t just part of her identity it was something she was so desperate to have be real she valued it more then her actual identity.

I think that and the “amber crying lol” thread are blows to her ego that hit her deeply. Between both, running out of material, her name being shadow banned, facing some kind of real punishment on YouTube and Eric exposing her? I think wrecks parts of her personality that were stable.

We know these threads bother her. That’s why she reads them and steals ideas from them.

Think about it the ‘cry more amber’ thread is mocking her acting- what she thinks she’s great at and relies on to manipulate others. Another solid part of what little personality she has.

She thinks if she acts like a happy chubby girl that’s all everyone sees as well. Facing that no one falls for her shit- along with confirmation from a community she so desperately wanted to belong to would force her to see herself realistically even briefly. And how does amber deal with reality? She loses her shit, pitches a fit and eats.

While I have no doubt emotional manipulation, seeking praise, attention and all that are factors as well. That’s what she seeks out the most after her tantrums, to be told she’s nothing like who she is in reality. I think it was all a means to an end. I’ll take my rainbows now.

See, here's the thing. If you have honest-to-goodness narcisstic personality disorder, you basically cannot be treated. To be treated for any psychological or psychiatric condition you need to honestly believe that you need treatment, and it is virtually impossible for someone with NPD to think that there is anything "wrong" with them. Therapy may teach them how to behave in society, but an NPD individual will use this information to better manipulate those around them rather than to modify their own behaviour for the sake of being a less-disordered person.

It's not treatment, it's training to get away with more bullshit.

Any competent psychiatrist should know this and wouldn't try to treat her for it. This is what makes me wonder about her psychiatrist - does ALR have NPD that her doctor has diagnosed but is still treating her for depression anyways, does ALR have NPD and the doctor has not diagnosed it, or does ALR not have NPD? We simply don't have all of the clinical details to make that call.

That’s what both her and Chantal rely on, the sympathy and sadness of their viewers to take a stand and defend them. When that doesn’t happen (and even Chantals more loyal viewers were pissed at her for her latest stunt) they realise more and more that no one actually cares and they come back either faking new found happiness or they’re saltier than a hog roast.

@Blotto I totally agree with you that the points you mentioned play an integral role in everything. But adding onto what @Cataloons posted, if we go for her having NPD (which tbh I didn't believe she had, but now am starting to change my mind); we need to keep two things in mind.

First, a diagnosis for NPD is more for the people in the affected person's personal life, so they have a way to rationalize and cope with that person's behavior. Powerlevel, but whatever it's relevant, I have a person close to me with recently diagnosed NPD. He's not a bad person, but he has his moments, and now we all understand why, and know how to process his behaviors even though the diagnosis didn't do much for him other than make him feel guilty since he didn't realize just how bad he was. Does that make sense? It's not really for them (the affected), it's for us.

Secondly, the only form of punishment that works for narcissists is impeding their finances because it directly impacts them and they can't brush off less money as someone else being unreasonable. Like, "You think I'm an asshole? Well no, you're judgemental for thinking that, so you're the real asshole here," doesn't hold the same weight as, "Oh damn, I'm not going to be able to buy the thing I want." This isn't speculation, it's fact.

Her GRWM video was the only video she's ever had taken down by YT. When she saw just how quickly and unpredictably her money could be taken away from her, she quickly went onto the defensive. It's the only threat that actually got to her, you see. Her body, social life, familial life, etc., falling apart didn't matter, but less money does.

She freaked out even more when she saw that her massive unpopularity and blackout on Instagram presented an even more realistic threat to her maintaining enough viewership and jeopardized her lifestyle as it is, like Blotto wrote--which is why she had to think very, very carefully about how she was expressing herself in her video. How can she victimize herself, but not make it obvious that she was mainly concerned with the video being taken down? In that moment, reality hit her because she was about to lose out on money. Anyway, all this just to say that that's probably the main motivation for her rehearsed chimpout video.

I think it all comes back to the fact that she’s been losing the little support she has left for awhile and at the same time reaction channels keep popping up and their views are getting dangerously close to hers.

I’m pretty sure she has NPD but the thing with that is that narcs won’t be honest with the doctor and even themselves. So how can a psychiatrist diagnosis that if she isn’t telling the whole story? They only see what the patient chooses to show them; in this case anyway. Psychiatrists will sometimes speak with family members of the patient with consent of course, to get a broader picture if they feel the patient is not being ‘real and raw FAWK’ but a narc doesn’t want anyone else involved.
It really is extremely difficult and most narcs never get appropriate treatment.
ETA: As @bev said, the diagnosis is irrelevant to the patient because they lack introspection to see how their behaviour is hurting their life and relationships.
