everything bad that happens is the side I disagree with doing itThere seems to be emerging reports that the train hit something mechanical that was on the tracks.

Which is rather like a similar incident in Spain using the same stock not too long ago. Mostly drivers getting lary with new stock and trains and then just ignoring the posted speed limits.
About two years ago amtrack had a fuck up in philly. Thats why i thinking dat speed thing is what may have happened.
Reports are saying that that section of rail was rated for 30mph, train was going 80. Happy to see spergs here still still think @officialantifa is not satire and are blaming them for everything lmao
It was going 50mph faster than the posted speed limit. There's no mystery here.
So just forget that object it hit, as the AP reported?
Shouldn't we look into whether strange foreign objects are on the tracks? There are really only two ways that happens. One is someone really fucked up and the other is someone put it there with malicious intent.
Most passengers report the feeling of the train hitting something, or lurching very suddenly in a lot of cases when a train crashes. This has been reported over and over again from various such crashes throughout history.
The reality is yes the train is indeed hitting something... the rail ties, the chairs that hold the rails on the ballast etc. Most folks report it as a lurch and striking something, mostly as the train leaves the rails before hitting the rest.
If a train does well over the posted speed limits (which are calculated a little on the safe-side, but not with a 50mph leeway). The train set was being pushed (it's known as a push-pull set, where the locomotives are at one end, but there's a driver's cab at the other) and the driver was going too fast. The engines probably pushed the cars off of the track as a result of too much speed and too tight a corner.
As Colt says, simple physics.
The NTSB said the thing was doing 80 around a 30 at the time of the crash. So who do you trust? Witness accounts reported by the AP who couldn't actually see any rail obstructions (if there were any) because they were in a passenger car or actual data from the NTSB.So are you saying the AP just made up the report that there was actually an object on the tracks?
It's not impossible. The AP isn't omniscient. It's still the report of the Associated Press that there was an object of some sort on the tracks.

Dude, this train was going to Portland. This guy was reading "Fixie Bikes, Unkempt Beards, Ruining PBR, and other ways to be a worthless fuck yet somehow always have money" not the NYT.Especially to a lay person who was busy reading the stocks pages of the NYT at the time of the crash.
They need to create a word for this type of pretentious liberal douchebag version of a foamer. They are absolutely infatuated with modern "high speed" passenger rail even though is sucks eleven kinds of balls covered in open weeping sores. Reading the news report I got a strong feeling that this guy is it. Like, he could have just taken the bus or a car and it would be cheaper and faster, but this is the future! Like they do it in Europe! It's only expensive for people that don't use it! Sign me up for the first trip!
If you really want to get into it, I would never take a 16 hour bus/train ride period. I would fly. It's cheaper, safer, and quicker.Trains are like 1000x safer than taking the bus and a hell of a lot more convenient too if you have more than a few hours to go. The ability to lay down and more or less stretch your legs out is a godsend. I would never take a 16 hour bus ride if I could find a train going the same place.
Benjamin Gran was ... an autism success story. He was also a registered sex offender, having served nearly two years in federal prison for child pornography crimes.
His death came six years after child pornography investigators arrived at his door. Gran, who was caught in an investigation into an online forum dedicated to promoting the sexual abuse of children, served a 18 months of a federal prison term after he was caught with a collection of child pornography videos.
