Angry Joe / Joe Vargas / Jose Antonio Vargas / AngryJoeShow - Streamer, formerly made ANGRY REVIEWS, hates his fans

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.

Boogie decided to weigh in on the Joe controversy.

Taking a break from gaming reviews for two months Boogie? Joe has been taking months off already to focus on garbage movie reviews no one wants. I also call bull shit that it's taking up to 200 hours to set up a green screen, buy/ wear costumes and then record/ edit. There are skit channels that bring out more content than Joe does.

It's like all these cows are melting down and crossing over. How long until an avengers style fuck you all video.

I could see it now.

Spoony, upon losing his house, goes on a berserk rampage on Twitter, blaming his fans for the horrible turn his life had taken. The breakdown goes viral, and personalities such as Angry Joe and Total Biscuit are put under fire for having similar opinions of their fans.

This leads to all of these guys coming into a single room to live stream a video game, with the chat disabled.

damn, aj's going too? i havent watched him for a few years but he was a really sweet guy back in the day afaik. his content was a bit over the top for me but i still liked watching it occassionally.

when jewwario died, i always believed the video was monetized by accident, ESP when he took ads off like the next day. now I'm not so sure...daaamn. :(

Maybe if Joe didn't have so many useless people on his payroll he'd have more money and time to put more quality into his content. I feel like a lot of the people he employs are only there to ride his (dwindling) coattails for easy money.
I remember when he first started doing movie reviews and my first thought was that he was just going to start cranking them out since it's just a bunch of unstructured, barely edited babbling and Joe's lackeys nodding and parroting Joe.
Instead of refining and improving his reviews or finding a happy medium it's all minimum-effort stream uploads and reaction videos which are a dime a dozen on YT.
In favor of filler bullshit he has even pretty much abandoned his "Top Ten" series which got at least half the views his Angry reviews do and don't necessarily require a lot of effort since there's no skits and it's basically just Joe talking in front of a green screen like in the movie "reviews".
For someone who wants to do movie reviews so badly Joe seems pretty unlearned as to how to do it in an even somewhat professional way. I'm not going to watch your movie review when I can just ask some random coworkers about it and boom I get an instant Angry Joe movie review without having to look at Delrith as an added bonus.

I only watched Joe's content sporadically, but I was really perplexed when I first noticed Other Joe. Apparently the fans like him but I find it borderline creepy that Angry Joe pays some guy to sit behind him while he talks just to nod in agreement and laught at his jokes.

There was a lolcow who bitched about something involving Joe, Pewdiepie and Markiplier saying it was only white men getting attention or something. It might have been Brianna Wu, but I'm not sure.
That was Brianna Wu. We gave her shit for not realizing the guy named Vargas probably is probably some flavour of Hispanic.

Meh, He probably lost a shitton of neurones reading the cesspol that inhabit the deep seas of youtube comment section. Some of the responces clearly show Kardashian level intelligence. I would stop making videos if it was him to...

Or he could just stop reading the fucking comments if they are that bad instead of chimping out over them.

I never watched Joe's videos, but what I'm sensing is that (just like what happened to nearly all his peers) the lustre has finally worn off for him; after so many years, he's built up a resistance to his own drug, so to speak. The apogee of this career has passed and he may feel that he's blown all his best loads and is down to the last cards in his deck. I can understand how that might be dispiriting and cause you to lash out when you and your fans naively assumed the ride would never end and now the wheels are falling off the car.

I don't think it's a coincidence that all these fading stars have been experiencing near-identical creative droughts or outright meltdowns. Most of them never had the sense for planning, creative spirit or mental stamina to begin with to make this work in the long-term, just the benefit of a gravy train that floated them to disproportionate success and has helped keep them in the game largely through inertia. The traditionally employed at least have the benefit of never running out of projects to work on so long as their employer is in business but I think we all know there's only so many movies and games one guy can yell about before he's just phoning it in and belabouring the point.

It's been about 10 years for TGWTG. The great Youtube experiment has run long enough for us to see the upshot that awaits every content creator who banks on its inherently fleeting attention and money and has no plans when their time passes and they're superseded by a newer modality of content. This is their twilight phase and I think Joe's behaviour is just slightly hastening what's already inevitable.

I watched a couple of this jackass's videos and they're nothing to write home about. The sketches are garbage, the camera is reflecting off of Corporate Commander's helmet when it isn't keying out because no one knows how to light properly for chroma key, the writing is shit, the reactions are fake. And this guy has a fuckton of fans and a sizeable audience.

Like, that's the dream of so many NEETs out there in internet land, make money by doing stupid shit and playing video games, and Upset Umberto wants to throw that away because he's having a mid-life crisis? What a fucking pussy crybaby.

Wait, he actually pays them? For what?

His reasons for not getting rid of the skits is because he wouldn't have anything else to pay Other Joe for. I imagine they get some sort of salary for showing up on streams and doing the movie reviews. Joe basically just pays them to agree with him. In the videos I saw, which I admit is not many and were also the earliest ones, they maybe contributed about a minute total of dialogue in videos that range from 30-40ish minutes. And most of the dialogue was just blindly agreeing with Joe. Other than that, they just nod, and occasionally laugh or repeat something Joe said.

If they have an opinion that disagrees slightly with Joe, he's very dismissive or sometimes "jokingly" insulting to them. To me, it always felt like Joe trying to act like the top dog, but it just came off as sad, especially since they really don't seem to care at all. It might just be the kind of friendship that they have, but eh, Joe seems to treat everyone like that. I know for some of the reviews Joe has also said he purchased multiplayer games for Other Joe or someone else to play for the sake of the review, despite them not appearing in the actual review itself outside of the skits.

I've never watched his streams, but some other people have mentioned they show up more there. They might be more active in those, but I doubt it. For whatever reason, Other Joe is weirdly popular with the fans. They seem to be pretty readily available, but I don't know if that's because they're unemployed or because Joe just schedules his stuff late enough in the day where work hours aren't an issue.
