The 3rd episode of Kaijin Kaihatsu-bu no Kuroitsu-san was one of the best episodes of anime I've seen in a long time. It's got everything. Heroes with dayjobs, overworked office girls, a worker tricked into doing a job she swore never to do again... again, Magical Girls, GB, GB breast envy, a comic relief character down in the dumps coming through to save a friend in need. I love this show.

I actually watched the first two OVAs, and I can honestly say that the first one was better than the second one.
Also, the scene where Geist dies because a child protected him while getting stabbed to death in the second one made me question if that was a good ending.

Can confirm. Those are xenos. If I run into it again I'll post the article for this, but one of the reasons they've slowed down on Gate is because this was coming up and they were worried about copyrights. The original writer included a lot of stuff without worrying about copyrights because the story was basically just a military shitpost that got really popular.

If I remember correctly they even directly talk about the alien movies in the original story.

Checked that tweet, got a couple answers. It wasn't that Crunchyroll censors the kiss, it's that Crunchyroll licensing the free TV version, so it's already being horribly censored like that.

That is still the weirdest thing, though. Like... why a kiss? You barely even saw tongue.
Glad Crunchyroll didn't do that, it was just that it wouldn't have been surprising if they were the ones censoring it given who runs it.

One of my new favorite anime(s) for 2021 has unfortunately suffered the censorship treatment — this time in South Korea.
