Aside from "coom" like stated by another user, it's the textbook definition of brainless shounen that people point to when they call the whole genre slop. But it's entertaining enough and with enough fan service (though to it's credit, there is no lecherous characters I can even think of, the manga is very aware who the pervert is) that it entertains the lowest common denominator.

It kind of reminded me a bit of OP at the start and ended in my weekly rotation of series to hate read like Bleach, Naruto, Hitman Reborn and similar crap. "I already spent the effort to be up to date, so guess I'll stick with it", don't do it as much now but still not free of this stupid habit...

Anyway, in the grand scheme of things it's harmless, bit it's absolutely "pop corn" and if anybody treats it as anything else beyond that, odds you are talking with a retard or a 13 year old.

If you aren't using brave browser, you are really missing out. Zero ads and it's my tool for reading manga and watching anime.

On other topics. Read Psyren. Definition of mid, not surprised it got cancelled. Wasn't horrible either mind you, but kind of felt all over the place.

Also reading Gachiakita. The mangaka nails that Soul Eater style, and the faces are pure kino, but it feels like she is making shit up as she goes. I'm still entertaimed but I find it interesting that I saw a lot of raving about it yet now it seems like nobody gives a shit, and being brutally honest, I'm not too surprised by the dropoff either.

Sakamoto Days latest twist has been actively bad for the series as far as I'm concerned. Such a gigantic fucking copout just because he wanted a Sakamoto dying cliffhanger. I've been souring on it for weeks and this has been a big blow.

Dandadan I still love and very much am looking forward to seeing the second season.
 
Soul Eater might be style over substance, but there's a lot of entertainment to be had with it. I do need to check out the manga, though, Bones I think was just an enhancer.

If you haven't read the manga before you absolutely should. People have been begging for a Soul Eater Brotherhood type adaptation for 12 years for a reason!
 
I'm curious about the general consensus of 100 Year Quest. It feels like more of the same, honestly, but the pacing feels off. Probably because Mashima is allegedly working on another sequel focusing on Fairy Tail's kids.

Sums it up well. The plot barely makes sense half the time but it's a fun ride.

45 minute opening episode. No Iseaki bullshit, this is dark fantasy. I'm not going to spoil shit, but... I was fucking impressed. It looks amazing. Some of the shots were simply jaw dropping. The animators got extra rice ball rations when they worked on this. Also day 1 dub. Fucking sick as shit. Its your choice if you want Nip or English. It's good, fully recommend. Its also ONLY going to be 12 episodes, which with the pace it set... oh, its gonna be SPICY.

I tried it because of your recommendation, and I am cautiously optimistic so far. Worried by the cool monster turning into a kawaii uguu twink/tomboy first episode, but if it maintains the ruthless and brutal nature that the first episode had, then I think this will be a strong AOTY contender.

Did you buy merchandise or blue ray disks for Maid Mafia? I get really annoyed when people whine about anime not getting more interest but so often they don't actually pay the money to support more getting made. The brainrot got a season 2 because people paid for it. Start paying for good stuff if you want more of it.

I have recently finished what is out of the manga. Bro, it is going places. Its going to be fucking awesome if they keep adapting at the same pace they have since episode 1. It is frankly a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of shit. I love me my dark fantasy. True dark fantasy is hard to come by it feels like any more. Because if you commit, people screech its too dark and edgy. Bitch, that is the FUCKING POINT. And you know what Cleavetess hit the spot for me. Its good. I'm excited to see what they do in twelve episodes.

Check out reddit's anime piracy board, the index there has a lot of mobile friendly sites that you can try out for streaming. I know, it's reddit, but the forum is still my go to if I need a streaming site while traveling and only have my phone available. I still recommend having ublock origin installed before you use any site.

That gives me a lot of hope, because I agree entirely with you, frankly. Too much stuff out there is too soft and fluffy wish fulfillment, when sometimes I just want to see a bunch of mooks get turned into chum against a monster they're hopelessly outmatched against.

That's honestly what made all of last season drag, frankly. There was some good shows on, but my gosh, i don't remember anything except fucking Fire Force, and that's because I read the manga and have been waiting for fucking years for Season 3. I like edge, that's great. Enough edge can even make bad shows tolerable in a comedic aspect. You cannot say the same for a boring show. That is the worst fate for an anime. Boredom. Say what you will about SAO or the like, but you fucking remember those shows.

Now when a show packs edge but also has a plot and is also good? You get what we in the Sektur call KINO. That is Clevetess for me.

Also yes, fucking buy the blu rays you niggers. That is how they track sales data. That is why Shield Hero is on a Season 4. The disks sell, even if the show has dropped off hard.

You're right man. The most important part of entertainment is that it is supposed to be entertaining, and if it fails at that, then what's the point? Part of why I hate entertainment being reclassified as "content" is that the redefinition excludes the most essential part of why you consume entertainment. I still remember Code Geass fondly to this day despite it being a clusterfuck of a show, because holy shit it was at least extremely entertaining, and that's all I am really looking for when I want to enjoy my free time. I said it a few days ago ITT, but I even like shows that are bad but entertaining, and would take them over shows that are "good" but boring, because come the fuck on man, I am here to have a good time above all else. Really looking forward to the rest of the season of Clevatess now.

I don't hate comfy shows every now and then, but it really is just every now and then. In recent years there is way too much comfy and not enough fun.

Bad but entertaining can at least be memorable. Chaos;Head, the anime for instance. Terrible show. Fucking awful. They tried packing a VN into 12 episodes and it just fucking did not worked. Its dub was hilarious though and it was edgy as fuck. I watched that in one fucking night. I bought the blu ray on sale for like 12 bucks even. It was dumb, stupid, bad even. But I REMEMBER IT.

And Code Geass. Code Geass worked because it took every fucking risk. It crashed the car multiple times, yet still managed to parallel park at the end. Every episode was different and gave you zero chance to think or breathe really. It was an experience. There is a reason studios don't do that much though. Not many shows can pull of a Code Geass where everything falls apart yet still works. That is anime at its best though. At its peak.

Why does every alien or cultist or spirit they encounter in Dandadan wanna rape Momo? I feel like every arc seems to have an attempted gang rape plot.
 
Is ROUNDABOUT the best anime ending song of all time? I think it even beats out Shouchi no Suke for One Piece and Naruto's OG ending song.
