iPhones are for hipster faggots and kids who need to have the latest fucking device to drain all their attention into. You wanna know what cell phone I have?

Not my actual phone, but mine's a similar looking dirty old prepaid phone from the 2000's that I've held onto for 20 years. I also have an android phone that I use for surfing the internet because I don't need a big computer.

Ok, poor.

I will say I wasn't a fan of the new apple watch marketing
It's targeted at women who buy smart bracelets like Whoop bands. All of the new features announced for the watch, with the exception of the transcription feature, are features that those subscription bands have.

It also doesn't have Apple's best cameras; it has one tier down from flagship just like Samsung's folding phones.
You're right, the main shooter is worse than that of the 18 Pro, it lacks the variable aperture feature for starters. It can record 4K 120fps slow motion footage which only the 16, 17 and 18 Pro can do so it's at least better than the camera used in the base 17 and Air. It could potentially be the same main camera we'll see in the upcoming base 18 (which is now coming at the start of the year rather than the end) but we don't know for sure.

From what I heard the ultrawide is shared with the 18 Pro, but the Pro iPhones have been using the same 48MP ultrawide sensor since the 16 Pro.

Once again, Apple wasn’t the first to do it, but their version is better than everyone else’s.

It still strikes me as a gimmick that I have no interest in, but it makes sense that if they were to do it, they'd do it a bit better than the competition.

The tech YouTuber who bought the Commodore brand and released a new C=64 is also releasing a flip phone with explicitly Y2K-ish branding, running Sailfish, a mobile-oriented Linux-based OS that's not an Android fork but has an Android compatibility layer. The phone is probably a rebadge of some Chinesium thing with an upcharge ($400) but it at least looks the part of something that came out in 2002.

Hello grandma, did you leave the home again?

Kind of feel like an idiot buying the base iPad A16 a few months ago (got it for a killer deal tbh) whereas I could have swapped in my 17 Pro and paid a bit more for the Duo. The perfect in-between device which may eventually end up killing the iPad Mini.

Edit: on second thoughts, I did the trade in value and Apple is going to give me a lot less than market value (I expected this to happen), and I would have to pay almost just as much as I did for this phone as my remaining balance. Definitely one to keep an eye out on throughout its many generations.

With the second tier camera in the Duo looks like I’ll be upgrading to a 18 Pro Max. The question is what colour? I’m really tempted by the burgundy.
I'm probably getting the sky blue, as I figure the lighter color would be better for outdoor use. I'm upgrading from a 15 PM to the 18 (pro) non-max, as I want a phone that is lighter and performs better in direct sunlight. My current phone is still great for the most part, except when I go outside and then it slows down a lot. I've read that the 17 Pro series handle the direct sunlight a lot better, so I imagine the 18 pro series will be a slight improvement on the 17 pro series.

Anyone wanna debate me on this?
I don't think Apple expected the Vision Pro to do numbers, even reasonably priced VR headsets remain a more inconvenient way of doing basically everything, I think it was just about testing out the tech.

After years of releasing iterations on the exact same iPhone model I think the foldable will probably do well, but I'm surprised Apple are so late to market since their whole thing used to be pioneering new tech.

Aside from that, I haven't owned an iPhone for 15 years: do the new models come with an SD card slot? Because that is a pathetic amount of storage for 2 grand.

at least TRY to be subtle you fuckers

I do think the Vision Pro would be perfect for call centers or government offices and such. Any office use-case scenario where you have people packed closely working on sensitive documents that must not be shared. Nobody can look over your shoulder to read info on a nonexistent screen, the data solely exists on the Vision Pro. People can’t listen into your conversations, and the system can be set to detect and raise an alarm if you try making notes with people’s personal information. Just hook a keyboard and mouse to it and maybe hardwire the entire thing if that’s a security issue

In theory yeah, I could see that as a valid use-case, but you could achieve the same outcome by working from home which I'm much more in favour of.

The fact that the product was named Vision Pro tells you what their intentions for it were.

The Vision Pro was intended to be the platform to develop and explore AR uses with, and eventually I’m sure there will be just an Apple Vision at a more mass-market price and a slightly lower spec.

As for Apple being “late” to foldable phones, Apple is pretty much never the first to do something, but almost always the first to do it well.

Looking at all the issues and problems that Samsung and others’ foldable have had over the time since Samsung introduced their first one, which was completely recalled due to issues with the screens failing, you can tell it was an idea that was not ready for prime time yet.

Apple knows that whatever they produce will be scrutinized and criticized to a far greater degree than anyone else’s products are, so they will skunkworks a product for years before unveiling it to the world after iterating it to where they feel it lives up to their reputation.

Seems like Sequoia was the problem, it's running fine under Sonoma again.
So I guess don't be a retard like me and install Sequoia on ancient hardware it's clearly not made for.
Sequoia was one of the watershed releases of macOS, where a lot of things took a generational leap that makes it a hard limit for older hardware. They come around every five years or so.

iPhone Duo starts at $1999. $3,199 for the 2TB. Most people will probably go with the 512 GB for $200 more.

Edit: The Duo 1TB costs more than the MacBook Pro I bought last year with 1TB of storage, M4 Pro, and 24GB of RAM.
John Apple, I do not care for your glorified tablet; I want a vertically folding iPhone like the phones of yesteryear. I demand it as well as a new mini John Apple; better yet, a mini vertically foldable iPhone. Make it real or your life will be over stalker child.

The cattle will be lining up out the door to acquire "latest thing" because you must have "latest thing" to fit in and be cool.

I had to buy a MacBook for school and I felt robbed. 16gb of RAM and 512gb SSD that I can't upgrade is the dumbest shit I have ever experienced. I'm selling it once I'm out of school and I hope to never go back. People praise Apples operating systems but honestly with my limited experience with them I think they suck and are made for retards who don't know how to do anything more complicated than downloading something off the app store. If I didn't need software that only works on Apple devices I would have never bought it.
