Are you getting the vaccine? - Absolute trashfire thread, please enter with caution

I imagine it's going to be forced onto you anyways. Jobs are most likely going to require a proof of COVID-19 vaccination at applying. And if worse comes, they'll try to chide you using social indignation (Oh look! We can go out without a mask and you can't! ;))

No matter what your stance is - there's going to be a dirty play by the government impeding on your basic human rights. Also, I am here to remind you all that Chantal has an OnlyFans and it's awful.

It wasn't approved by the FDA. It has an emergency use authorization which is not the same thing as the normal approval process for a vaccine. Even the info handouts for the vaccine clearly state that there is NO approved vaccine for covid. If you think it has been approved by the FDA, you are misinformed.

Okay, you got me there -- approved for emergency usage, not normal usage, but still, it's been approved the bureaucracy.

I'm not shaming anyone for not getting the vaccine. I think the reasons people are making that decision are mostly dumb, but yes, your body, your choice. I would never condone some draconian measure like forced vaccines on anyone. I just think it's retarded that people call me a bootlicker, dumb, because I don't immediately doubt all of the science and consensus backing it up.

I trust the experts more than I trust myself, because I never went to medical school/got the education they did. What's wrong with that?

I'm fine with outsourcing some of my health decisions to the people that know best, because I don't want to spend all my effort researching and fact-checking because I'm terrified of the 0.01% chance that my doctor is bullshitting me and is lying for his profit.

What will it take to convince you guys? So all of the academic institutions, all of the politicians (I agree that they're full of shit), and all of the academic papers that show that this vaccine is safe and very effective in reducing severe covid cases aren't enough.

Vaccines have been distributed for weeks now. It's gone smoothly, and I've looked at the data for adverse reactions. Most of the serious ones are anaphylactic reactions (which is a chance for any vaccine) and after treatment with epinephrine they were totally fine. That's better than them having permament damage from COVID and potentially dying.

Other than time, say if some medical journal or reputable source came out right now that it's safe, would that change your mind? Or is time the only answer?

If you think time is the way to see, you're basically saying that the old and at risk should be guinea pigs for the rest of us, which is immoral imo. You should volunteer yourself for the vaccine for the benefit of society.

Even as someone who wanted the vaccine and was mandated by their company to get it, this sounds like glowposting.

Yes, politicians are shit, like the ones saying you have to be quweer or black to get the vaccine, when the scientists say that literally would cause more deaths. And academics actually have degrees, which means they're not just talking out of their ass like Cuomo the grandma killer.

I know of 10 people who have had the vaccine. All of them have experienced bad reactions to it, some of them are still feeling ill after 2 weeks from just the first vaccine being taken. The most common reaction is a severe head ache and soreness breathing. So I'm going with my first hand experience here over MSN telling you it's fine and there's no issues.
I'm not sure those would really be considered bad reactions in a certain sense. I think what would be the actual concern is the immune system overreacting, such as an allergic response.

I believe mRNA vaccines essentially work by introducing mRNA coded for viral components to the cells, but the cells shouldn't start producing these components permanently. I believe this would result in greater immune response than other types of vaccines, which unfortunately fairly likely to result in feeling poor, since immune activation tends to make you feel bad, and I believe during natural sickness, immune activation is actually responsible for a lot of the discomfort in many cases. This immune activation is why you might feel a bit lousy after a flu shot, for example. I wouldn't surprised if those symptoms you mentioned were due to immune response, although perhaps it's possible that the method used to deliver the mRNA is irritating the body in some way as well.

With that said, given that this year has started off with a major protest in D.C. and Gamestop stocks causing national news with hedge funds, perhaps we should be wary of what further madness 2021 has in store for us.

Imagine how slow medical technology would progress if everyone was as skeptical as you people.

"Oh yay I just discovered the cure for cancer!!"

"Oh we should totally wait 50 years to see if it has any long term effects before rolling it out to the public, and let millions die in the process."

All because you want to own the libs.

Just take your goddamn vaccine yourself and stop being such a bitch about it.
