Those are all, unironically, are marketing slogans that were sold to schmucks like you. I have an unironically better chances of surviving and living a long life, because I know that while my choices do matter, my life isn't my own and there's an authority above me.
Nowadays a lot of people are conditioned to submit to authority and avoid conflict or change. The very idea of confronting someone or something is so haram to them that it terrifies them far more than more realistic threats. It ranges from Chris Chan levels of autism to the more common cases where people are unwilling to leave a shitty abusive job because they're afraid of change.
