That was Trauma Center for me. And this one time they did a kart racing game where you played as little babies, and Dan picked the black one and said he was winning because of his fast-twitch muscle fibers. Shit had me dead.

That bit they did where they pretended that the hospital was actually covered in jello because the drawing made the floor look so shiny made me burst out laughing and it was one of my favourite bits of all time (unsurprisingly? ;)) and I would rewatch that episode constantly back in the day. I have no idea if I would still find it as funny today or if it was just the right amount of lolsorandom IMPROV!!! for my underdeveloped brain. Early Dan era was over-hated.

He's no Jon but the early Dan videos could stand on their own when he had more energy and novelty.
I remember Punch Out and Pokemon Fire Red being fun but the latter mostly through best ofs. It's not even particularly Dan's fault, I just don't think Pokemon makes for interesting Let's Plays.
It only went bad once Dan ran out of stories to tell and turned more into Arin's yes man on top of Arin becoming worse than he already was too.

I had that video recommended to me and I've always avoided it because the title is obnoxious and I assume it's TurkeyTroon level video "essay" slop. Don't need some nigger to summarise drama I'm already familiar with in the gayest way possible.

Game grumps is like 15 years old, lots of its fans might not have any clue about its past. If bet current fans dont even know about jontron era

Also, the reason for bumping the thread: i guess Barry Kramer is gay..I watched a recent stream and evidently he's dating a tranny. I guess I should have known, he's a ✡ from California, what could I expect

What makes you think it's a tranny? Just a quick look at her Instagram and twitter, doesn't look like one to me. She lists her pronouns as "she/they", which is cringe but they're in LA what do you expect I guess.

Honestly never even thought about new fans. I always assumed people still watching GG are people who grew up with them and still use them as a comfort show. I don't imagine a Let's Play channel is getting much growth in 2025.
