You'd think Ego's fans would at least realize just how many former friends suddenly dropped him.

I think we can cross Stamper off the list. I forget if it was earlier in this thread or the Suzy thread, but he was making fat jokes to suzy over twitter even before this shit storm began.

Edit: Found the picture. It was on the suzy thread.
holy shit i laughed so quickly and so hard fuck
he's just calling her a fatso, completely unmitigated. I love it.

So hes not friends with Oney or Jon...who
else has he burned bridges with?
I think the Grumps had some kind of falling out with Markiplier.

From reddit (archive):
"Matt and Ryan used to be Mark's editors. They quit, presumably because Mark was kind of an asshole and worked them too hard (those are his words.) They got the job editing at GG and Mark was pissed and hurt. Mark eventually posted an apology. There was never any public falling out between GG and Mark, but I assume GG feel kind of attached to Matt and Ryan."

Not sure how accurate the information is but they did a lot of collaborations with Markiplier, mention each other a fair bit etc. at some point and now: nothing. (apart from some NSP videos - hence why I think it might be Arin who's not interested in mending any bridges. But it does seem that Mark was the asshole in this case.)

I don’t really buy the whole “this is cancel culture” people. We heard him explain himself, and it was dog shit. Even if pelo and arin are on good terms, Arin has still been adding to the giant dog shit snowball that is his career and reputation.

Edit: LIKE FUCK I DONT CARE IF YOU CALL HIM GOOD INTENTIONED AND INNOCENT HE’S A FUCKING BRAINLET.

Based on what was said in Markiplier's apology vid - Mark sounded like he was a professional/perfectionist who expected quality editing from his editors, and the SM boys were slacking off in their job (couldn't meet an upload schedule, consistent editing issues - kinda like how it was when they worked for the Grumps). However, unlike Arin (who'd let the slacking slide), Mark got on their asses about it (you know - like a boss is supposed to when dealing with slacking employees). SM got offended and ended up leaving.

I still think Markiplier shouldn't have apologized for expecting the people he paid to edit his videos to do a proper job of it.

Arin's defense force now found its way to RantGrumps and is now attacking and goading this poor dude because they feel slighted for getting recommended said post on Google.

And remember class: if you give your opinion on something, it's always about you. It doesn't matter the subject, it's about you and you should always be ashamed in yourself, no matter what, you dumb NO-LIFE BRAINLET!

...What a nice group they have.

I can't remember where, but I do recall seeing that the Markiplier thing was about the quantity of videos he expected them to edit was bordering on unreasonable for two people and he wasn't paying them enough for the amount of work they were doing, on top of having to live with him at the time and having a close friend of theirs kill themselves. There was probably a lot more to it than that as well, but it seemed more like a boiling over of a few things that resulted in Mark treating them poorly, I'd imagine if the quality of their work was in question, they wouldn't have been poached by Game Grumps, the fanbase regards them as the second best editors as far as quality goes next to Barry.

You are one of the most dedicated people in this thread, I swear to god. I should just nickname this thread "OmnipotentStupidity loses his fucking mind."

Oh no they do. At least some of them do, and then scream "W-Well arin dropped them because they're toxic!!!!!1 and they're mean!!!!!!!!"

I dunno man, even if they somehow were the scummiest and shittiest people on earth isn't it kinda concerning when a bunch of people who were called friends and colleagues suddenly drop someone? A group of people hardly collectively decide to do that without good reason, not that it can't happen, but time and time again has proven that oney/stamper/spazkid/etc. haven't done anything to warrant for people NOT to trust them. As far as I'm aware at least, besides, they don't even have threads here lmao

Well when you have a history of documenting Arin's bullshit, screenshotting and keeping one's hand on the pulse of the fanbase's escapades just becomes second-nature after awhile, doubly so the more disconnected you become with the whole affair over time. If nothing else it makes for excellent material to laugh at, as well as helping to shine a light on the more deranged side of that fandom.

To be fair, OP seems to be enjoying the show. I like the way he handles some of the crazier ones.

And that's why only 1 of 2 options actually works here:

1.) Arin was super shitty as a friend/colleague, as shown by the myriad of evidence collected in both threads and videos on the subject, and they all just decided to snap back.

Or 2.) Cancel culture, a la Week Wars-esque fanaticism.

And because the Lovelies will always stand by him being "human" and how he's "changed" over these past few years, they will immediately go towards the defense that coincides with those thoughts. Even if it's very clear that one side is clearly in the right more so than the other.

Hence: Facts vs. Feels in its most raw and concentrated form.

His fans are right though: Arin HAS changed. What they fail to understand is that he hasn't changed for the better.

His online persona is one of the biggest farces especially when compared to his actual online behaivor. He's an asshole to people who criticize him, Game Grumps has allowed him to fester into a bitter, creatively bankrupt hack, he's surrounded himself with Yes-Men who wouldn't stand up for themselves to save their skin and he's content with that, he's explicitly terrible at video games despite many many MANY attempts at being a credible expert and critic of them which is something that has driven a massive wedge between him and former fans, and Arin laslty stubbornly refuses to admit when he's wrong instead deciding to through pity-parties every time he's caught.

That many of his peers have surpassed him and still find it necessary to air grievances speaks volumes to Mr. Hanson's ability to keep positive connections.

That's the thing: if that was all he did, most people wouldn't care. Hell, he wouldn't even be considered a lolcow at this point, save for the fact that he's so openly despicable and so openly heinous to others and doesn't even attempt to hide it. Instead only choosing to hide behind his clout, which in turn causes the people who naturally form a bond with them due to their Let's Plays to lash out against people. Hell, most did ignore it when it was on Tumblr. The second it spread like an infectious disease everywhere else though? All bets were off.

I'd argue that if not for Arin heading, and in fact encouraging both his company and his fans, to act the way they do, the fans would be more deserving of a Community Watch thread than Arin in Internet Famous, and I'd dare say they're even more responsible than Arin for having it reach this point in the first place. Yet every time Arin just constantly and effortlessly one-ups himself (at this rate) every single week. To the point that they just fade into the background and become interim commentary to Arin's stupidity.

I'll say it again: it'd be fucking hilarious to watch spiral downwards, if it didn't end up taking so many people down with it, and cause so many people so much unneeded harm in the process. Now, on top of laughing, you end up just simultaneously loathing everybody involved for making everyone around them be forced to see their acts of stupidity, lest they burn on the fandom's stake. Not even, just purely existing, in fandoms or not, makes you liable to Hanson's stupidity. Whether it's making a Sonic walkthrough online or working IRL in the middle of bumfuck Ohio where the employees don't even know who the hell they even are.

EDIT: Gee, it's almost like I said this is the state it would get to 2 months ago, and would you look at that: it's somehow actually gotten even WORSE since then. How 'bout that; ain't that some shit?
It turns out Arin didn't have a permit to be there, and may actually get fined for possibly endangering people's lives in LA. Naturally the Game Grumps stans on Twitter were giving excuses like "Oh it was just a mistake", "Well people going should have researched the event before going out there", "Geez maybe people shouldn't be upset that they cancelled the second day, they didn't expect that many people", "STOP BEING ENTITLED THAT YOU FLEW OUT TO LA TO MEET THEM! They're just people", and so on.

Remember guys: never argue. These guys are learning. :optimistic:

...oh...

It's worse than that because at least that's a meme, that's something related to autism itself that's fun to mock.

With Game Grumps, you say anything against that (it doesn't matter if you're a fan or even a fellow creator using their office) or disagree in any way with the status quo, not only will the people in Grumps disassociate from you out of pettiness and out of the want of preserving their own egos, they will have their fans attack you (regardless of whether or not they even know what's going on) to the point that they'll find your personal information in any way they can (DingDong/Leadfoot), cause people to try and commit suicide (Ohnips), or be forced to cower in fear and delete and backpedal on everything you said regarding the Grumps (the Goddammit Ross joke thing from the Skyward Sword stream).

And God help you if you wanted Ghoul Grumps like the SBFP community would want Shitstorms.

These stunts are gonna end up with someone getting killed one of these days, and Arin and co. are too fucking stupid to realize that! It leaves one laughing, awestruck at the state of things, but once you actually realize what's happening and what the fandom and the Grumps themselves have done: it's honestly pretty fucked up just how much the company or most in the fandom doesn't give a shit. Or even worse, how much they actively encourage it.

It's literally the same as when Chris Chan says he's learned from his mistakes.

Is there some lolcow handbook they're all passing around?

Not a handbook, but more so a mixture of Californian air and a strict, unwavering and unfounded sense of entitlement.

Legend says this mixture be poison to anyone stupid enough to consume it.
