Armored Core

Finished the first mission. Don't understand the point of having a boss so early, especially one that it's easier to just bum rush with your beam katana than actually engage in positioning and tactical fire. Also is the stagger bar related to temperature?
The point is to teach you to be aggressive and to not hide behind gunfire. Stagger is built from weapon impact, the impact stat in the garage, there is no temperature mechanic.

For those of you having trouble with the smelter robot that has the huge grinders, bring hover legs and grenade launchers, hover in the air above him, and just shoot them into the smelter on his back repeatedly for super easy stuns and damage. If you're feeling brave, you can also try to get inside the reach of the grinders and stab him in the face, which is another weakpoint.

EAC is garbage and the only ones who get fucked by it are regular players, hackers bypassed it in the first few days of release when Elden Ring came out.
It was bypassed after someone finished downloading the game, all you do is make a copy of the main game's exe and rename it to "start_protected_game.exe", same for AC6.
EAC isn't really a DRM it's just a really shitty anticheat that doesn't even work, Malcolm Reynolds was still able to easily hack the game as much as he wanted online.

Just bashed that damn helicopter out of the sky and this felt like some bossfights from Bloodborne where up close and personal gives you the biggest rewards. The Mech itself moves really good with mouse and keyboard though I have to stop mashing quick boost

Wait until you get access to the pile bunker melee weapon. It's rather satisfying to watch a huge chunk of a boss's health disappear when you land a charged strike.

I don't like the stagger system at all and every boss fight being "build up gauge, unload, repeat" is annoying. It's been a decade since I've played AC but I don't remember the big fuck off half-the-arena melee attacks the bosses have being a thing before. Feels like Souls in that regard and I don't like it. The one at the end of chapter one has a moveset that reminds me of Artorias. Other than that it's pretty fun, even if all the chapter end bosses leave me tilted.

Aside from gameplay HDR seems to be fucked. When I enable it the entire game is gray washed and it seems to be a common issue on the forums. They also bundled the OST and artbook into an executable you have to launch instead of just a directory like non-autistic people. The OST can at least be exported from that app natively and it sounds pretty good. Some of the songs remind me of older Nine Inch Nails:

I saw some journalist complaining that it's not open world, and you "just go back to a hub"
Hub's great, makes sense as well, retards need to stop complaining that every game isn't the same.

I just need a couple nice decals for my robot and I think I'm ready to keep playing the game.

I don't know where all these weird expectations came from, both from gamers and "journalists". Anyone who has played AC in the past knows these games work on a mission-to-mission basis with tinkering and testing between them.

From what I've seen in reviews, the series veterans got what they were expecting, more or less. The common theme I'm seeing is people complaining that the game is too hard or people being lost after skipping tutorials.

Admittedly, it is somewhat dickish (also funny) to put the actual tutorials after the first mission. I saw a Steam review with like 25 minutes of playtime that said "game is trash, you can't even reload".

Yes armored core, please do the generic empty open world that takes forever to traverse. Thank god we’re getting more mission based and linear games recently.

Best review I've seen on Steam in awhile.
The first boss i died a few times as I haven't actually played a souls/ac game before; until I realized I could just cheese the heli by staying under it. Finished in about 1.5 minutes after I did that; haven't had too many issues so far after beating the heli

11.4 hours and he thinks the only weapon that you can use on your left arm is the laser sword.

Fucking retard lmao.

So does this game run well on the PS4? because my computer is old and almost certainly can't handle it, so PS4 is the only other option.

I don't care if the loading times are a bit longer or the framerate is limited to 30fps whatever, I just need it to not have massive lag and/or freeze up every few seconds.

I've been unable to find a clear answer to this question anywhere else on the internet.

My god using the pilebunker on niggas in PVP is the most satisfiying shit to land on somebody.

From Soft should all catch cancer of the penis and burn in hell. AC is a great game. You know what's not great? Adding Darksouls level bullshit bosses in an AC game. I get that FS have become the Dark Soles git good company, that doesn't mean you need to put that bullshit in every game.
I'm on the final mission of chapter 1, and have that fast moving cunt who took a while to kill, and then straight after the second boss in the core who rapes the shit out of me because I didn't take a shield buster weapon.
If this was before the two hour cut off, I'd ask for a refund.

That boss is a giant cunt with the shield and Souls giant flaming blade wheel. I hadn't bought anything besides what unlocked from missions and training so similarly I didn't have anything to deal with the shield well and had to exit the mission and buy the pulse gun and come back. It's kind of counter intuitive but the tutorial helicopter, end of chapter 1, and end of chapter 2 bosses are actually reasonably easy to do damage to by flying into them and hitting them in the face with the sword when they stop moving for a second.

I don't remember what all weapons are available at that point but shoulder mounted grenade launchers trivialize a lot of fights because of the retarded stun mechanic and a solid shot of them does like 40%-50% of anything's bar per shoulder. I probably made things somewhat worse for myself by not spending the OST chips from the arena until mostly through chapter 3... Turns out the 15-30% damage boost from maxing a damage type and the stagger damage helps a lot.

I wish From would go back to not making every game they make some variant of Souls. Souls games are generally fun but not everything has to be them. I am curious how they'd shoehorn it in to something like Lost Kingdoms though.

Don’t be a faggot. Equip yourself with a pulse gun and laser sword, and two missile launchers on your back. Very easy.

The complaint is more being forced into meta builds instead of being able to experiment and take down bosses non linearly.
