It’s for all Asian Americans, but when Asian people stood against race quotas in college, they turned on them pretty bad. They also don’t like that they’re non-white, but excel in wealth and education, because it hurts “the narrative”.

You can probably find articles on it, but it’s basically Asians are “white adjacent”.

They literally invented a new term, BIPOC (Black & Indigenous People Of Color), specifically to exclude Asian people because Asians are the most successful ethnic group in America, having a higher average income than even white people, that they’re ruining the “USA is racist” message.

It's confusing because everything not from Japanese historical records of that time is fanfiction. Jesuit to whatever fucking faggots exist in the modern era.

Yasuke at best was a page. Never a Samurai. We don't know if he was from what is now Mozambique or India. Some people are even disputing if he was ever a slave. He was such a meager nothing he's lucky to even be a footnote for how odd he looked, otherwise no one would have remembered him.

For all its non-AC feels, Valhalla was at least enjoyable, right up until the dream machine shit. One of the problems with the games since Origins is having two different endings; sure you get to the end of the story, but there are still the enemy hidden ones out there, which should've been implemented better.

What's funnier than the Yasuke stuff, are Japanese saying the girl is South-East Asian. Did Ubi really think they'd sneak that past them.

Thats whats so sad to me, the newer games are enjoyable on their own but just not as an AC. They wouldve done a better job if they just made these games as part of an entirely new franchise than putting the AC name onto it, Ubisoft arent a small indie company im sure a lot of people would gobble up any new IP they put out.

Just lots of wasted potential.

A key Assassin’s Creed Shadows developer has explained why he chose not to address criticism aimed at the game by X and Tesla owner Elon Musk.
Speaking to journalist Stephen Totilo’s Game File, Assassin’s Creed series vice president executive producer Marc-Alexis Côté was asked about a tweet Musk posted on X regarding Yasuke, one of the game’s protagonists. Responding to a complaint that the character is an African samurai, Musk wrote: “DEI kills art.” DEI stands for ‘diversity, equity and inclusion’.
Côté replied that he had seen the tweet and was tempted to respond to Musk, but ultimately chose not to.

“That tweet generated emotions, that… the first thing I wanted to do was go back on X – that I had deleted – and just tweet back,” he explained.
“And I just took a step back. I have a mindfulness app on my phone. And I did a bit of mindfulness to try to explore the emotions that this tweet created.
“For me, Elon, it’s sad, he’s just feeding hatred. I had a lot of three word replies that came to mind.”

Côté came to the conclusion that fighting back wouldn’t win the game any new followers, saying: “By attacking someone like Elon… I will not convince people about our point of view as a team.”
He also explained that while the game’s developers did their initial research during the early stages of develoment, Yasuke – who was a real historical figure – “kept surfacing”.
“We’ve got a super-mysterious historical character from which not much is known about. And for us, it was what we want in Assassin’s Creed,” he explained.

He then claimed that players who try the game will realise why Yasuke was added, giving a specific indication of how long this realisation would take.
“What Elon says is not the game that we’re building,” he said. “People will have to play the game for themselves. And if, within the first 11 minutes and 47 seconds, they are not convinced of what we’re doing, we can have the discussion.”
Asked why he cited that amount of time, Côté replied: “I was reviewing the game very recently, and I was like, ‘the answer is there!’ I just hope and wish that people can keep an open mind about this and see the game for what it is. It’s an Assassin’s Creed game, and I believe the best one we’ve ever built.”

What I hate most about this is that gamers will throw out the "it's just a VIDEO GAME, not everything can be historically ACCURATE" fallacy while Ubisoft themselves are blatantly revising actual history for DEI metrics and calling it absolute fact. They did that with Battlefield V and Call of Duty: Vanguard; now magically, everybody is an expert on what COULD be depicted as history despite actual fans pointing out glaring inaccuracies on TOP of the obvious.

I got recommended this earlier today by Youtube and well... I'd say it's very appropriate.

EDIT: I didn't even notice it was uploaded like yesterday. Now I'm even more confused why it was recommended to me. Maybe it's a sign.

You only lose your status at the end of the game when the Shogun and Shimura have finally had enough of your shenanigans as the Ghost.

And you technically aren't ronin (since ronin are actually samurai without a lord) at that point since your whole clan has been disbanded and your title stripped. So you're just a common bandit. You're no longer Jin of Clan Sakai. You're just Jin from Omi.

Glad to see Kyoto is on the map. I assume it means we will indeed be getting Honnoji in some form.

Youtube has been recommending smaller channels a lot more frequently in the past month or so.
