Ubisoft is in a losing position either way. Positive critic reviews wouldn't help the player backlash, especially since they pissed off an ENTIRE COUNTRY for pandering purposes. Negative critical reviews will just add fuel to the inevitable dumpster fire now that players will officially have their hands on it come March 20th.

Best case scenario, this will be forgotten about in a few months time.
