Evil Templar chuds. Since they went full retard and are gonna turn Nobunaga into a heckin' proto-Marxist BBC-loving TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS ally, who the fuck are gonna be the bad guys? The original concept they had for a game set in Japan made so much more fucking sense for Nobunaga and Hideyoshi to be the evil Templar chuddenheimers and Tokugawa to be the heckin' Assassinerino given that one of his retainers was Hattori Hanzo, y'know the MOST FAMOUS SHINOBI IN HISTORY? It's such a no brainer to make an Iga ninja be the main character. Even someone whose knowledge of the period starts and stops at the Samurai Warriors series of games could've scored such an easy layup. How are they gonna explain the fact that Nobunaga conquered the Iga province after his retard son fucked it up royally? Keep in mind that the samurai families from Iga basically had their own semi-autonomous confederation which functioned similarly to a heckin' democracy, another reason why the original concept for a Japanese AC was such a damn no brainer.

I mean this changed after the first three games, but technically in the original games especially the first one the assassins were not portrayed as especially moral or good people.
In the original game your mentor is the bad guy
Nobunaga and Hideyoshi especially Nobunaga were basically the Vlad the Impaler's of their society in how they dealt with their enemies, pretty hard to spin them into noble heroes.
My guess is that kang serves as a Samurai under Nobunaga but then has a crisis of consciousness and teams up with brickjaw to oppose Nobunaga after discovering he's a member of the Order of the whatevers, I forget what the name for the Templars is in the new games.

The Ubijews have anti tamper protection for their single player games, I remember some guy getting banned for modding points in AC Odyssey (wanted to skip the RPG grind and play it like the original games), the whole Ubi account got nuked. I doubt they will allow mods on this one. Ever since AC Unity they wanted to drag out the game with RNG shit, and then make you pay for it if you want to skip it. An asian/white mod will end up like the Spider Man flag mod, it will get nuked by both ubisoft DRM and the big mod sites.

As mentioned a bit ago, Assassin's Creed is normie bait to the extreme. No matter the controversy (though it was very much helpful in getting this game in people's mind), no matter how much it isn't an Assassin's Creed game, normies do not and will never care about the quality of the work. Most normies don't have the time to, they play something for an hour or so, probably soypogging throughout, and when they're done you can ask them about the game and there's a genuine chance they'll either go "Assassin's what?" or "I had fun" and never mention it again. Only people who are actively online for at least some time will actually talk about it, like what we're doing now. Even then we're all a rare breed as the majority of people don't use the internet like we're doing now. Most of the ones that do are mostly actively ruining it or contributing to its ruination, but I digress. Most people buying this game are either Redditors or barely know what Reddit is, barely an in between.
Strange given the amount of cheats for Ubisoft games, even online ones.

I'm not even sure what it's competing against, either, so the numbers might not even mean anything. If you're the only player in the game then yeah, you're gonna be up there.

I don't know about Suicide Squad KTJL having high pre-order sales. But meanwhile on Amazon Japan. This may be worth investigating if Ubisoft is taking shortcuts on buying their own games just to show that it's number one.
