Also, remember that in that series of Yu-Gi-Oh! everything runs on fate, and destiny, so Kaiba spitting it in the face, telling it to fuck off, and that he'll decide his own is even more fucking badass.

If Kaiba met Eren, he would just mock him for being a slave to destiny, and not being strong enough to make his own way.
The thing with Fate as a trope, it works best when it's used to highlight a tragedy that something will be inevitable or show fate being changed that inspires hope.

Attack on Titan fails to do this since Eren is too lazy to do anything and never bothers to see if fate can be changed beyond a girl rejecting him all for the sake of a ghost that was never mentioned until late in the series.

What better way to hurt them then to take the story they loved and utterly fucking destroy it?
Imagine loving Attack on Titan to begin with? I mean yeah it started strong sure, but like Game of Thrones you have to ask yourself at some point, where is this going? And so far as I'm concerned, the moment you ask yourself that question and can't figure out where the story will go, chances are you're in for a complete crapfest.

It was simple: get to the basement/the ocean, then it was see what happens once the basement questions are answered. And the shit after the timeskip gradually turned into its own Season 8.

I can’t help but wonder if this would’ve been better off without Titan Shifters. Just humanities war against the titans. Then again, there probably wouldn’t have been any cool fights.
Probably not. I think the issue was that back before the timeskip and the basement, there was a "less is more" model, in that it was a big deal who was a Shifter, and when two Shifters faced each other. Also back then, there wasn't big melodrama over who'd be inheriting powers.

I think the issue comes in line with what had been revealed in the basement and Isayama deciding to take inspiration from other stuff to have characters have future predictions which is where I think the series went downhill alongside the retarded race politics. Those two things basically were a blackhole of all the issues in post-timeskip Attack on Titan especially with the future stuff having no foreshadowing prior to the basement reveal.

My favorite thing about the aftermath of all this is that what's left of the fandom has just devolved into a retarded shipping war over which slut a genocidal tree should be with, and why.
That and pseudo-intellectuals who love the ending proclaiming how AOT is "peak fiction" while those who hate it for retarded reasons whine about how Eren should've won and project their politics onto AOT.

I'm honestly still kind of shocked Isayama killed Sasha off, her and Connie seemed like an obvious endgame pairing.

But Isayama's not exactly a good writer, so.
Honestly, Sasha was probably killed off for shock value as her death didn’t really add anything to the story other than to make the cast “Sad™“
Same with her romance to Niccolo, it was never expanded on, never went anywhere, it didn’t have a purpose that couldn’t be fulfilled by any other character lashing out.

To be honest, at that point the AOT fans should have realized that Isayama was terrible at writing relationships and any romance he wanted to bring to the table would have been executed horribly.
If they had a brain to realize that, maybe there wouldn’t be retards malding over who got with who. :story:

It's Floch's birthday today! Pour one out for the only fun character introduced in the last arc!
Floch was just so stupidly evil he became really enjoyable. Plus he’s the only villain in the timeskip whose goals make more sense with the current state of the world (Since Eren and Willy were massive retards and Zeke sorta made sense given the racist parasites in the world)

Also there’s a new trailer and release date

Hoo boy, that CGI is looking rough, and these are the good shots. Imagine the rest of 'em.

I think that rumor about MAPPA having to get the Berserk 2016 studio to help them might actually be true.

Berserk 2016? HELP?!
Yeah, about that.

Take this with a grain of salt, but apparently everyone in the anime industry knew what a complete disaster AoT was becoming, and so the original studio who was making it sold it to MAPPA, a studio infamous for its shitty quality, and abhorrent work practices.

As AoT became a bigger, and bigger shitshow, less and less studios wanted anything to do with it, and which is why, along with MAPPA's low-funding, they can't find people to help them animate it. According to the rumor, the only studio that would be willing to help was the only one worse to them, and that's the one who made Berserk 2016.

It's still to early to tell, but considering how shoddy some of the scenes in the trailer look, I'm thinking that might actually be the case.

One of the worst things AoT have done to the completely overshadowed the novel (2008 ) and anime (2012) Shinsekai yori (From the New World) which had the balls to go there* and dealing with the ramifications of what have been done.
*HOLY SHIT this is a story to really fuck with the muggle hating Harry Potter and Marvel marvel capeshit fans. Which makes Isayama's post time ship that much more retarded.

I know about MAPPA's abhorrent work practices, but I thought Jujutsu Kaisen and Zombieland Saga looked great.

I don't think the quality of Attack on Titan's story had anything to do with studios wanting to help out with it since there are so many shitty anime that have been produced by major studios that can make a mountain. Especially since Attack on Titan is a major franchise so it would've made bank.

The issue from what I've heard is how Attack on Titan is a very complicated show to animate since from we saw of how WIT animated it, there were so many people they had work on episodes including ones with barely any action. It didn't help with the source material being hard to animate with how they had to animate horses along with titans being quite hard. It gets worse since Isayama or the Producers had very strict deadlines for when they want shit out (which is why the final season is rushed). I say Isayama here since he has a lot of heavy involvement with the anime compared to most mangaka who usually take a backseat and just request some changes here and there. After all Isayama considers the anime to be the definitive experience for Attack on Titan.

The complications with what to animate is what turned off many studios along with the deadlines since they didn't want to risk animator's health with how large scale many things are in those arcs. MAPPA however only picked it up as the reason you have said which is how they treat their workers (which makes other animation studios treatment of workers look kind) along with the fact Attack on Titan is a major IP that would make them money.
