If he does plead guilty to a 5th degree felony it would be in the 1-10 year range, my guess is it's going to be through July 2024. That'd be 3 years in total counting time served which sounds about right. There wouldn't be any probation after that since the charge would be dismissed.

Even if he'd been convicted it probably would have been a guidelines sentence on the low end of the possible range. I don't see him pleading to anything unless he fucks up during his potential supervision period. There's no real reason (other than his own good) to restrict his Internet access completely, so I would guess he doesn't have that.

Not sure where he got the Switch back from. Maybe it was on him when he was arrested and has been sitting in a desk in jail.

It's pretty unusual for someone to be arrested for sex with a parent. It's usually the other way around. Of course it's pretty unusual to fuck your mom over and over again and go around boasting about it too.

However, in Chris's case, it could be that making certain living arrangements available to him post-program is incidental to the whole situation - meaning, staying in a supervised situation indefinitely wouldn't be a requirement, but "while we're at it, this person needs help/isn't capable of living independently, so let's also find a place for him that could be permanent after any deferral-related requirements, if he chooses." That's what I meant by the longterm outcome here possibly being a more holistic solution for "what to do about Chris."
