I just read about a woman who had to have a late term abortion because the child was already deceased in the womb on top of the pregnancy endangering her health. She ended up having to fly to a different state all together to have the procedure done.

With that though, it can usually be caught by ultrasound around 5 months and that's "late term". This is absolutely fucking ridiculous. Because if you knew your kid was gonna be fucked enough that you needed an abortion, it should have been done when it was caught.

I thought the Hartley Hooligans were undetectable until birth because how do you detect the lack of brain from an ultrasound?

There is a demand for late term abortions. Because they have been almost completely outlawed, there are only 3 or 4 doctors nationwide that do it, and they face constant harassment and danger. IIRC a few years back one was shot in the face for doing his job by a pro lifer. And because there are so few that do it, there are only 1 or 2 new doctors in training.

If you need a late term abortion, it usually is a critical medical emergency. Hundreds of women a day used to die from deceased fetuses in the USA alone. If the fetus dies, it will cause a domino effect that leads to widespread sepsis and infections. It is a long, slow, and incredibly painful way to die, and today it is extremely difficult to find a doctor to remove the fetus in such a scenario.

Now, Virginia COULD have used this bill to fix that, and it passing Would make this easier, but it has attracted so much negative attention there is no way it will survive a court case now. All because of this exceptional 4th term abortion thrown into the mix.

In their case, you can see on ultrasounds that a large portion of their skull was simply missing. Microcephaly can be detected fairly early, around 20-22 weeks. In the case of lack of brain, the skull is always way too small or completely missing altogether (Anencephaly).

Their mother and father were fundies that didnt believe in abortion, which is why the Hartly twins suffer every day.
