Avowed - Obsidian's new game, like Pillars of Eternity meets Elder Scrolls

Finished Avowed. Now before people give me dumb stickers, yes, the game is woke and yes, it is a discount Elder Scrolls games. But is it still something worth playing? i thought it was decent for what it was. A medium size AA game that you will get around 30-40 hours of gameplay. Trying to sell it at 70$ is an outright scam when the game was clearly made for people subscribed to Xbox game pass. I would not pay them 30$ for this. The gameplay starts off slow but gets better as you unlock more skills and get better gear. Playing as a duel welder felt like cheating at times but it was the kind of cheat that made it fun. The story is ok i guess. if you played the POE games it will atleast keep your attention but if not, It will really not make sense since you will not have all the context of the older games.

I wonder if this is the end of the POE series. If so, it ended in rather quaintly while POE two was either you liked it or hated it.
Sounds like your typical Gamepass game. Not worth any actual shekels but not the absolute worst thing to check out if you already subscribe and have a few hours to burn.

It’s incredibly fun and with the right group of friends things will happen that will make you smile when you remember them months later. However, if I’d paid full price for it I’d have spent sixth months sending rape threats to Rare customer service.
That can be said about everything and every game. I've played utterly terrible mmos (ESO online) because of friends.

Do yourself a favor and go pick up Monomyth and realize how dirty they're doing you in comparison.
Then remember this is being made by one guy. It has some difficulty scaling issues, but outside that? It is eye opening.

My month was up on xbox and I wasn't about to pay 10 dollars to finish the game.

My final review was that it was good at what it was, and was made mediocre because of what it was bad at or didn't do at all. If you haven't played it I'd say it's worth 10 bucks to own if you feel like running around, collecting shit and killing monsters for a while. Worth 15 to own if you really like Pillars lore. I can't imagine there's much replay value after that. I will say if this was an experiment to see how good they could make dungeons than I'd say it's successful. I don't think Obsidian is sunk by it, but it's not going to regain any of it's former glory either.

I remember loving ESO when it first came out. I was in a great guild full of entertaining lunatics though. Played for a few years, got busy with work, and drifted away.

Tried again recently and the guild seemed to exist in name alone. A damn shame is it was pretty big and pretty busy once. It was ran by a super chill old guy, so there’s a chance he died and it fell apart.

you can join up to 5 guilds, so you can stay in it and just join some other guild. everything up to the latest chapter should be in the subscription, after june it gets added, then the next (if there is one) is "exclusive" for a year.

anniversary right now and it's giving me the bug to finally finish some stories, played everything up to high isle, now I still need to finish galen, necrom and westweald....

It is worth 0$, don't financially support these hacks in any way

B-B-But the game did good on game pass...

What's the TL;DR on this one?
He's biking across the country, stopping at Fallout related locations or something like that. He talks about going on Rags the dogfucker's show with Dev, his Oblivion video, things he wished he did differently in it, and things he plans on adjusting for the podcast version of it. Then he talks about the remaster and gripes about something, I can't remember. He says he's gonna play it but there's nothing else to be said about Oblivion so who cares.

Someone else already did the tour of West and East coast Fallout locations, so unless he wants to go to the MidWest and re-create the journey of The Warrior from Fallout Tactics, there ain't much he can do.
Oblivion demaster is super old news, some people still play it but the normalfags have moved on to something else already so I don't see a point in making a video on it. It's mostly just new(worse) graphics and "modern sensitities" like Type 1/2 shit. Maybe it can be a boon for modders in the long term, but I still say the original Oblivion with mods is still the better way to go and always will be.

Netflix Game Studios?
Ahahahahahahaha.
They just can't help but shoot themselves in the foot over and over and over again. Just think ... if only they'd focused on technological improvements with those big swimming pools full of cash they had instead of getting into movie and TV production, and now game production. We could have at least gotten a more optimized video codec out of them or something. But noooooo, we have to shit on every existing IP we can buy and vomit up dreadful "original" garbage too.

They have so much money.
Yet they hire the worst people imaginable that want to push slop ideology. This was the first I had even heard netflix had a game studio. And just hearing it you know its going to be a failure. You ask the average person they'll tell you its going to be a failure. If they listened to ANY COMMON PERSON they'd know not to do it. But they're going to do it.

The good news is that all the studios netflix operates are two bit operations that shit out troonslop walking simulators or schizophrenic mobile games. In other words, nothing that qualifies as a game. The bad news is that the people who work there are paid money. Honestly, if we can't have all the problem actors tossed into the Congo, it's a good place as any for them.
