There are way better games on sale, right now, that can buy for $10. Disco Elysium, the entire Batman Arkham Collection, the Leisure Suit Larry Collection, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, both Grimrock games, and that's just skimming Steam. On GOG, you can get the first Kingdom Come, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Dragon's Dogma 1, Torchlight 1/2, Darkest Dungeon 1, literally all of the Metro series, and Frostpunk. Even if it was only competing for $10, there's a lot better that I can spend it on.
Seems a mistake was made here, if woke is to be avoided.
Mankind Divided was the blueprint for all these modern sequels
that ended up killing franchises and somehow have less content
and more political correctness out of nowhere than the previous title.
('Aug Lives Matter')
Suddenly everyone forgot about the strong independent mongrel
and that 50% of characters were homosexuals for no reason.
At least they were closeted, all things considered.
Granted, it does look really good, has an actual art direction
(something that post-modern devs forgot to consider),
and has tighter gameplay than anything Deliverance-d this year.
I'd argue it has better gameplay than Cyberjank 2077,
and it's more videogame than whatever subpar crap
Youtube shills sell to kids and soychildren these days.
I don't think that justifies killing the franchise.
Also: too short, starved of boss fights, little replayability.
But to be frank, other than wasting precious life time,
for the current price (USD5 average) vs production values it's a steal.
Imagine paying full price and buying DLCs on day one for this.
TL;DR: Buy, play and replay Human Revolution and assume it has no sequels.
Thread tax:
Avowed looks like shit, has no art direction
and is solid proof that videogames are dead.
Compared to it, Mankind Divided is a 11 out of 10.-
