Babylon 5 - A underrated sci-fi show.

Crusade was excellent and died an early death from meddling.

The tv movies were pretty good, especially the Cthulhu (IN SPAAACE) one.

The DS9 vs B5 debate is tiresome and pointless. Yes, Paramount probably ripped B5 off but both were excellent and probably the peak of TV sci-fi.
Crusade was shit bar the episode with Ed Woodward.

Made for TV movies were mostly ok , Legend of the Rangers was shit , Katsulas must've been hard up for dosh

Haven’t really watched TBBT except maybe seeing parts of it on some background TV in a waiting room or something, but having the cast shit on B5 is probably a cheap “we are Trekkies, so DS9 is better than B5” gag. The irony being lost on the writers that most Trekkies enjoy (or are at most indifferent to) B5.
Bester alone is worth any Trekkie admitting B5 is awesome.

I just realized J. Michael Straczynski makes $10,000 on Patreon for doing nothing. At least now we know what the "J" stands for.

It's not that I'm against him making money. I, for one, believe paypigs and idiots deserve to be exploited. But he says he started it because he couldn't continue his writing gig during the pandemic, yet it's 2024 and he hasn't really made anything since.

Isn't the Psi Corps exactly like the LGBT cult community? Children that grow up in broken households grow up and become resentful of people that had a normal upbringing.

Fags spread their nonsense by targeting kids who have also had a less than ideal household, and then their full-time job becomes making other people's lives miserable as well.

If you stop and think about it, that's basically what the Psi Corps does. Did JMS predict the future?

After years of being recommended the show I finally gave it a try, just started season 3.
Very pleasantly surprised by how good it's been so far. The Shadows are built up as a proper threat, the characters all feel realistic. Unlike a lot of modern shows it feels like everything was planned out ahead of time, rather than just winging it.
There's definitely some cheese here and there, but it's a pleasantly nostalgic type. A lot of the CGI reminds me on those 90's FMV games like Harvester or Dark Seed 2.

I have been """interested"" in B5 since childhood, but due to the recent semitic death of good media I have been cagey as fuck about picking up anything which might have that "unrealistic koombaya shit" ala star trek. Just genuinely sick of that sort of thing at this point in the Banana Republic.

Is it actually on point and not fucking subtly gay?

Its on point and really fucking good.

You do get hokey shit here or there, but that is largely contained to the first season and even then its usually giving both sides an argument to stand on.

He's still clinging onto the CW reboot of the show. Talks of mergers of Networks, whether to sell it or air it on the network. The writers strike. All sorts of things getting in the way for when/if it gets made.

A lot of people hate the 5th season, but I still argue the second half of the 5th season is as good as anything else the show did.

Crusade was excellent and had lots of good ideas, but it was killed in its crib by WB.

To be fair, he did get that animated movie out last year. It wasn't great, but you can't just say he was sititng on his ass.

What's with space shows and specifically putting the most abyssal-looking mukmuk kin in a position of power? It's almost like a studio quota for broadcasting or something. Good luck with that as China takes the stars, "No ghosts in space" as they say.

That's because it was. At least the first four seasons were.

My favorite season-spanning moment...Vir tells Morden that he'd love nothing more than to see Morden's head on a spike. Then two seasons or so later...we see Vir doing that little "bye bye" wave and a brief flashback.

That character doesn't even make it in the show, you retard.

JMS is 70 now. He probably knows he doesn't have that much time yet to continue his work. I think he'll try and push through whatever difficulties he comes across during production for the sake of his own legacy.

Doesn't count because it's a cartoon.

Can confirm that it is actually good and not gay. It's a little shaky sometimes, and definitely feels more like a traditional TV show than something like DS9 does, but it's been good so far.

I like how they pay things off like that I just watched the episode that explained the whole Babylon 4 stuff that happened two seasons ago and it's nice to see all of that paid out at the end.

One thing I will say, there are a bunch of voice over actors that show up in this show. Second episode had the voiceover guy from Civ 5 and that was a hoot to hear.
