Not the word I would associate with the show. And definitely not the first.
In fact the sort of space film I would associate with that word more that's recent would be Guardians of the Galaxy. Which I like. But it is not Babylon 5. I am very worried that's what we're going to get.

My greatest comfort about this is I know people who love it more and will hate any remake. We've already mangled that show quote discussing it.

I liked the show. It was fun in a wierd way.

Definately they'll fuck it up.

Narn were a stand in for Muslims and Centauri were brit/french colonials.

Though seeing Trump with Londo's hair would be very memeable, Narns being woke would be just too much of a break.

Centauri did have their fertility goddess with 6 tentacle dicks, but seeing how hedonistic they were, it made some sense.

This is going to be a massive trainwreck worthy of CWC.

It might be good.
As for the voices, according to IMDB Bruce Boxleitner, Peter Jusarik, Claudia Christian, Tracy Scoggins, Bill Mumy and Patricia Tallman are back in their roles, the actors who passed away were replaced with voice actors (Phil LaMarr is voicing Dr. Franklin).
 
If you didn't have reason enough to hate the big bang theory, at least for the average zoomer like me, my first exposure to B5 was in TBBT constantly shitting on it

Never watched any of The Big Bang Theory - looked personally offensive. But how the fuck could they shit on B5. It was one of the best shows of it's era, Sci-Fi or otherwise.

I'm happy to say I've also never seen a single episode of big bang theory. Also, every clip that I've randomly had shoved in my face has been aggressively unfunny.

Haven’t really watched TBBT except maybe seeing parts of it on some background TV in a waiting room or something, but having the cast shit on B5 is probably a cheap “we are Trekkies, so DS9 is better than B5” gag. The irony being lost on the writers that most Trekkies enjoy (or are at most indifferent to) B5.

I'm in the 'much of DS9 probably was lifted from the B5 Bible' conspiracy camp. And so Sheldon saying it is 'derivative' [of DS9] is pretty funny, but also very sad because it's probably going to become an accepted truth in the future.

It's only one character that hates it, because he's a barely-functional autistic and B5 is all about social dynamics, politics and emotion, none of which he understands. The other nerd characters all love it.

Crusade was excellent and died an early death from meddling.

The tv movies were pretty good, especially the Cthulhu (IN SPAAACE) one.

The DS9 vs B5 debate is tiresome and pointless. Yes, Paramount probably ripped B5 off but both were excellent and probably the peak of TV sci-fi.
