The guy behind the show once said that he won't do Babylon 5 cause he can't do it without Peter Jurasik... I had a lot of respect for him then, but it seems he, too, sold out in the end.The writing and the actors were its two greatest strengths.
This show won't be an addition to the lore of the original, it won't expand the universe, it won't spin new and fantastic stories in a setting that we love.
It will do the same thing to the originals, that we have witnessed so often by now. It's going to be an uninspired mess of modern politics, that will make the setting feel smaller, more trivial and less imaginative. It will shit on the past and insult the fans. And as always, the only thing I can hope for, is that it either flounders silently like that atrocious "The Watch" show that pissed all over Terry Pratchett's works (hey! I bet you totally forgot that show even existed!) or that it will be mocked relentlessly like "Batwoman".
