Babylon 5 - A underrated sci-fi show.

The writing and the actors were its two greatest strengths.
The guy behind the show once said that he won't do Babylon 5 cause he can't do it without Peter Jurasik... I had a lot of respect for him then, but it seems he, too, sold out in the end.
This show won't be an addition to the lore of the original, it won't expand the universe, it won't spin new and fantastic stories in a setting that we love.

It will do the same thing to the originals, that we have witnessed so often by now. It's going to be an uninspired mess of modern politics, that will make the setting feel smaller, more trivial and less imaginative. It will shit on the past and insult the fans. And as always, the only thing I can hope for, is that it either flounders silently like that atrocious "The Watch" show that pissed all over Terry Pratchett's works (hey! I bet you totally forgot that show even existed!) or that it will be mocked relentlessly like "Batwoman".

I used to like JMS stuff. The first falling off was his shitty Green Goblin & Gwen Stacy hookup story , second was Sense8 with the Transkowskis , and third was his recent autobiography where he spent the first third shitting on his father.

Current JMS is just as shitty as Berlanti and its better match than you might first think.

I mean

If YOUR father was a Nazi who threw out all your comic books you'd be pissed too

Most of the actors really jelled with the show from the first season, even as wonky as it was. They knew what kind of show they were on, and they gave a good serving of ham and cheese to make people want to keep watching it.

Second part is U.S. military installations do have stores usually where the commissary and exhange are located. Selling merch denoting any where from U.S Military in general, to a singular military branch to the various divisions, brigades, and on downwards stationed at that particular installation. Although it is mostly shirts, mugs, challenge coins and other non offensive stuff.
Don't forget teddy bears. You can get a bear from any branch. Action figures of real individuals is pretty weird, but I think that was the point. (I haven't seen B5 in years.)

G'Kar will be a troon... no. You know what? Why fucking stop there? The entire species of the Narn will be trans (however the fuck that works when they have only one gender). And the Centauri will be modelled after ORANGE MAN BAD. Instead of their more "French noblemen of the victorian age" look, they'll wear red caps, have tiny hands and chant "MAKE CENTAURI GREAT AGAIN".
Delenn was supposed to be a troon, but I think Mira Furlann rebelled. Prepare for 800 articles about this new show portraying "JMS's original vision" for Delenn. Maybe Sinclair will troon out when he becomes Valen?

Who are you? What do you want? Why are you here, and what are your pronouns?

Case in point this cast poster from a long ago era.

The writing and the actors were its two greatest strengths. Especially since it had less of a budget than the third season of ST TOS probably did, and it showed.

At least I can totally legitimately obtain the 4k remasters that are free of dumb 16:9 artefacts like the Amiga boing ball being able to be seen in the window outside Sheridan's office.
oh? the 4k version is actually, like, coherent? I recall getting butthurt over comparing the DVD ep with the Psy Corps ad to the LD version and considering buying all the LD over time

President Clark is absolutely going to end up being a Trump stand in. Expect him to have absurdly orange skin, and maybe even give some shitty speech about 'making Babylon 5 great again.'

I wouldn't at all be surprised if they have him start out as president though.
An unlikable Vice President who usurps command from an old as fuck, borderline retarded president (who had already made a ton of stupid decisions beforehand) through shady means will probably be just a bit *too* close to what Kamala ends up doing by the time this ends up airing.

Short answer is yes, but IIRC only seasons 1, 2, and 5 are fully on LD. The rest is on VHS.

Long answer has to do with how much Warner Bros has historically hated JMS and wanted him to suffer.

@Standardized Profile

Delenn was supposed to be a male to female, actually, but they couldn't convincingly make the actress look male, even as a xeno.

@UnKillShredDur

That was the whole point of Clark; you barely saw him at all IIRC, except for a couple speeches on ISN and of course the very end of Season 4. Then again it wasn't exactly subtle with its messaging; you see a Jewish shopowner get his shop ruined by the Nightwatch. Get it? It's like Kristallnacht? I thought that was heavy handed when I was 10.

I'm well aware of what the original President Clark was supposed to be.
I'm just predicting what they're going to do with him in this CW remake. If absolutely nothing else, JMS still clearly suffers from TDS.

So I been thinking about how much Jerry Doyle and Garibaldi were alike. It's funny how people say you got to separate the actor form the character.

Yet for Doyle you didn't need too. Becuase I could totally see Garibaldi as a Republican who later would become a libertarian and than go own to make a radio show where he talks about politics. It fits very in character.

It would be equal to if Nick Offerman was an actual libertarian like his character form Parks and Reactions instead of a leftie.

Wasn't it because MJS had it that Doyle could put alot of himself into Garibaldi as much as he wanted?
