Fascinating. And to answer your question, I'm not here stirring up controversy

What controvertial thing did I say?>using the "no u" argument
Fascinating. And to answer your question, I'm not here stirring up controversy
I never implied that your opinion is a controversy. It's your behavior that's more of a controversy. You're telling something completely mute without giving good explanation why, and then you made some huge bitchfit all over it.In your mind controversy is when someone disagrees with you? In case you forgot this is the barbie thread, and I'm talking about barbie and its content.
Ok here's my explenations.I never implied that your opinion is a controversy. It's your behavior that's more of a controversy. You're telling something completely mute without giving good explanation why, and then you made some huge bitchfit all over it.
Yes, good job sirOk here's my explenations.
Barbie is propaganda because the main plotline of the movie is barbie travelling to the real world and being disgusted by the patriarchy, she gets catcalled, groped, all the CEOs are men (which the movie draws attention to) there's multiple speeches about how hard being a woman is, the men in the real world go "the patriarchy is totally a thing we're just hidding it better" and there's several comments talking about how men and women are not equal, and ken taking over barbieland is viewed as a bad thing that must be fixed.
The movie is also popualr because in less than a month its made 1 billion+ dollars and will probably make much more after its done with cinemas. Do you find any of these explenations inadequate?
Someone on this video below made an interesting headcanon regarding Ryan Gosling.my head canon is that Ken in his broken state decided to become a stunt driver in LA while moonlighting as a getaway driver for thugs.
It could just be that both writers were/are wildly out of touch with the actual public. Social media really is just a hugbox echo chamber.Barbie's depiction of Ken seems to have fallen into the same ideological blindspot as Watchmen's depiction of Rorschach, that being even if you believe a certain set of propositions to be absurd doesn't mean that your audience shares your belief.
I think Greta Gerwig is so deep in the feminist weeds that she regards any interest of men to be worthy of derision, so she can take Ken's reasonable desire for Barbie's affection, respect from his peers, power over his own fate, as manifestations of the Great Feminist Shaitan, The Patriarchy, while the audience looks at Ken and sees a sympathetic, if goofy, character.
That reminds me of how I used to link Batman Forever and The Invasion together since Nicole Kidman plays a psychiatrist in both. It's funny how stuff links together like that in a non-schizo way.Someone on this video below made an interesting headcanon regarding Ryan Gosling.
It's the image. Not only is Barbie a recognizable brand world-wide, but we're neck deep in nostalgia-focused media so everyone wants to go back in time. The sets and costume design and music evoke the same feeling that Barbie gave kids when they were growing up. Plus despite the woke shit, it's a comedy. And it stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Aside from that, it's largely inoffensive. The plot is the only real downside and it only gets unbearable in the last 20 minutes or so.i have not seen the barbie movie, but i have a hard time believing that a woke movie can make a billion dollars worldwide. but how do you fudge a billion dollar box office and all of the reports that all the screenings were sold out? you can't.
the question i have, for those who seen the movie, is how overtly woke was it? or was it even woke and all of the fnt and g+g crown are exaggerating "the message" in the movie, to get clicks, like they always seem to do?
When I watched the movie, I felt like she made some pretty valid points about her insecurities that a lot of people could relate to. But she's also complaining how helpless she feels as a grown woman to a bunch of dolls (which is a weird paradox in itself with the plot of the movie taken into consideration).Saw a clip of the America Ferrera monologue on Instagram and based on the reactions to it it seems it’s the I Have A Dream speech for middle class mommy bloggers.
The movie is making money cuz it stars conventionally attractive White people and normies can just ignore the political message and enjoy the Ken Show which is what most people like about the movie. Ken gets a bunch of song and dance numbers while Barbie just fades to the corner in the second half.i have not seen the barbie movie, but i have a hard time believing that a woke movie can make a billion dollars worldwide. but how do you fudge a billion dollar box office and all of the reports that all the screenings were sold out? you can't.

My favourite is Lebanese Barbie standing among debris.

The AI-generated Barbies for countries in Central/East/Southeast Asia and Latin America had fake bleach blonde hair, as if women in those regions aren't dyeing their hair fake blonde. I don't really see Pajeets dyeing their hair blonde and it seems the South Asian Barbies have dark hair. More likely, the OG blonde Barbie influenced all the images.
These Southeast Asian and Latina Barbies have typical faces for their countries if you take away the bleach blonde hair. Yet people complained that they were "white girls" in yellowface or brownface, as if having fake blonde hair and not being as dark as a nigger are the only qualifiers to be "white".

And either way, it's statistically impossible for any modern country to be 100% dark haired, since globalization, immigration and the "horrible legacy" of European kkkolonialization are a thing. The Central Asian Barbie being blonde and resembling Russian Barbie made me wonder if the AI looked at the Russians who live in Central Asia as some sort of reference instead of ethnic Central Asians.
