Apparently Pennsylvania's state government shut that down. So now their options are:
-Omaha (CWS stadium meets MLB regs)
-Buffalo (sort of like home territory but the facilities supposedly suck)
-Scranton (Yankees minor league stadium lol)
No matter what, this is going to be rough year for the Jays. Good thing they had no chance of competing this year anyway.
As long as Vlad Jr hits some dingers, I'm fine with it.

I know it was awhile ago, but regarding the draft as I didn't say anything mentioned about it:

Asa Lacy falling into the lap of the Royals at #4 is great for them; I assume it was for the money/Boras factor that they passed up Martin like Baltimore did

The Mariners did really well at #6 to snag Emerson Hancock; could've been the first pitcher off the board and I wouldn't have been terribly surprised

the Rockies did nicely to grab Veen at #9, he's going to look nice at Coors one day

Heston Kjerstad going #2 was surprising to just about everyone; I know it was to save money but I don't totally hate that pick for the O's (I would've gone with Nick Gonzales or even Zac Veen here personally if I was going to make an unexpected move for the pick)

I was shocked that Austin Martin fell to the Jays with the #5 pick (I'm very pleased about this) and I think it's the biggest win of the draft for any team

Boston going with Nick Yorke at #17 is... bold; could work out since he seems like a great hitter by all accounts, but that's a bold pick to say the least

Tampa may have made the steal of the draft at #24 with Nate Bitsko; he seems like he could've had top 10-15 potential if the Coof didn't fuck up the season for everyone

The White Sox did really well to get Jared Kelley at #47, he's a high schooler who throws three good pitches already and surprises me that he didn't go in the first round

If the Jays got an unexpected good season and play to Buffalo and win the World Series. That might end a long curse of sports drought in Buffalo. :story:

Ever since they absolutely fleeced Pittsburgh in the Archer-Glasnow/Meadows trade, I just assume that whatever the Rays FO decides is right.

I agree big time. I still couldn't believe it when it happened. When it was announced that it was Meadows and Glasnow heading to them I remember going "Wow, what a great move." Then later in the day it was updated that there was a PTBNL. I figured it'd be some nobody, but when it was announced that it was Shane Baz being added I nearly fell out of my chair. What the Pirates were thinking is beyond me. It's probably, on first glance in real time, the dumbest trade I can recall seeing in... god, I don't know how long.

The Pirates' thoughts were probably something along the lines of "We might have to pay these guys more than $1 million per season at some point in the future? We can't have that happen!"

Definitely, but I mean god damn. What a lot to give up for a #2 pitcher (who two years later almost to the date of the trade probably isn't that). If it was Glasnow and maybe some mid level prospect I guess it would be palatable for the Bucs since Glasnow was struggling (and maybe Searage thought he'd not be able to fix Glasnow's control issues), but Meadows and Baz were both top 100 prospects and the #1 and #3 prospects in their system at the time.

They've made so many bad decisions over the past few years, it's basically all been downhill for them since that wild card game in '15.

And then they get a helping of misery every now and then to go with it, like when Felipe Vazquez turned out to be a pedo.

Since its Opening Day, I will sprinkle my knowledge here

1. Braves going to beat the Stros to win the WS

2. Blue Jays are looking at Nashville, Atlanta, Huntsville, and Birmingham to play at. Main focus is Nashville.

Opening night is pretty BLM heavy. All the players for the Yankees and Nationals took a knee before the anthem, all the bases have the BLM logo on them and they all have patches on their sleeves. They've been delayed now for about half an hour in the 6th inning due to heavy rain and lots of lightning. All the Giants players for the late game are donning their BLM shirts, too. Fauci threw the opening pitch and it would up about 8 feet behind where the back of someone in the left-handed batters box would be.

Seems like they're going to wind up playing at Camden Yards in Baltimore.

May or may not, they had Pittsburgh locked until the PA government stepped in. Blue Jays org has already been talking to AL,TN,GA in case this goes south again.

Yep, it's just an issue of the government of Maryland now. Like the Pirates, the O's have announced that they're good with Toronto using their park.

Its going to be a Southern League field or Nashville. Supposedly Maryland is getting ready to knock it down.
